Default Leda Install Story and Pics

Here is a preview of what happened a few scary nights ago...

First, the mad scientist enters his lair...

The mad assistant (Midwayman) has once again laid out the parts backwards seeing as we are comparing the front OEM to the new rear strut!

Achilles38WRX: These are suppose to be 17" rims, but they measure 19" from edge to edge...
Revision: No, no, just measure the inside of the rim from edge to edge and div by 2. Then add the difference to get the ride height.. Hey this tape measure is in metric!

Igor(Midwayman) tries to figure out what to do in the rear seat!
I wonder who stole the seat bottom!

Ah, a closeup of the mad scientist trying to loosen those evil rear strut top bolts!
Achilles38WRX: 40 ft-lbs my ass!!!

EEP! A close call as the Subaru attempts to rip the mad scientist's head off!
Revision: Here I'll pry you loose with this 19mm box end wrench.. Just hold still now...

Another closeup of the mad scientist type person.

Don't try this at home kids.. Experts only!!!

The front struts are finally in!

The rear struts are finally in!

A look at the exceptional ride gap!

Ok.. So all that wheel gap turns a Subaru into a truck...
At least the mad scientist dude is happy.

Thanks all folks!

i think i may want the 9" instead of 10" springs in the rear, so we may end up doing part of this job again!

Mark, congratulations on the install! Be sure to get it cornerweighted if possible, or at the minimum an alignment (I'm sure you already know this).

Sweet, STX might give me some real competition now

Maybe I'll keep the claim to that .003 index difference from DS just in case...

The spring rates are different. So unless you've been talking to Donnie, I'd leave the higher rates up front.

gary, i'll get it aligned and potentially weighted when everythings settled. First event I'll run at will be the scca event in belvidere, cant wait!

much less bouncy today. for some reason my left rear was set at 2 from full hard, instead of 2 from full soft. sunday night i re-adjusted to have the fronts at 3 from soft, the rears at 5 from soft. much better!
