Just to be clear, as far as the 5dr STI's go, there aren't any base/premium/limited models are there? I just want to make sure so I don't order something lesser than I'm expecting.

Also, anyone know roughly what invoice is for a 5dt STI here in California?

Thanks,
Colby

Right, no limited/premium etc 5 door sti (far as I know it has everything the limited has except for leather and a sunroof). I can't comment on invoice in California but I orderd my 5 door sti, nav, rear bumper cover, shock sensor, auto-dimming mirrior, and arm rest extension for approx. $800 under invoice. Ended up being about $37,800 OTD

Thank you! ^

I'm definitely going to have to work on my negotiation tactics. Every dealer around here expects me to pay MSRP which ends up being like 40k after taxes. I don't expect to get a stupendous deal, but it sure would be nice.

I just ordered my 2013 Sti 4dr w/no accessories for $35,219.21 which includes destination, sales tax, dealer fees & DMV plate transfer. Is that a good price? Plus was given $12,500 for my 2006 Wrx Ltd. This is my biggest car purchase yet and I just wanna make sure I wasn't jerked.

That sounds like a good deal.

I'm actually looking to try and get a 4dr STi myself - was thinking of putting some offers out there for $35k flat.

I created this account in 2007 and have been reading on NASIOC ever since. I, for the first time, made an official move toward owning a Subaru on Monday.

I ordered a Limited DMG WRX 5 door. I'm very excited to get the car. Now, to wait and see how long it takes since I ordered it.

Good luck, I refused to pay over invoice. Just keep shopping around until you find a dealer that will negotiate

So I went up to Rye Subaru last night, expecting the salesman to not be there. Much to my surprise he still was. He normally leaves earlier then I would be able to get there. As I walk in the new sales manager says "good evening how can we help you" and I replied "I'm here to break some balls" So that seemed to put him on edge slightly.

I walk over to the salesman's desk and I receive the "Hey Mike, I was just about to call you" line which anyone here knows is 98% BS. But I left it for what it was. He said that he received my messages and didn't want to call me without solid information. It looked like he actually had my file open on his desk so I want to somewhat believe him.

The sale manager said "we have to check in the morning (this morning) because there is supposed to be a DXN.01 in SWP coming into Mass" (or CT, I cant remember what he said) They are trying to obtain it for me so I don't have to wait 2-3 months. He said once he gets some information on it, whether they are able to get it or not, he would call me and personally took all my information and taped it to his computer monitor.

Possibilities of this actually being fact or if it is just BS to keep me quiet for the time being, who knows.

I told him I'm not trying to be "that guy", and I was fully aware of the wait on this car. But when I go 2 weeks and know nothing, not even a VON, and have messages ignored or unanswered I get irritated. It presents the image to me that it was never even ordered.

So we will see what happens today or if i need to go back up there today and make a scene lol

Wow I'm envy of you guys getting your WRX/STI order for a lot under invoice. Dealers around her won't budge much at all around invoice or couple hundreds over invoice. The one they have on lot is even worse. May be I'm just not good at haggling.

It's not you. Things have tightened up BIG TIME now that there is such a different order system.

Anyone getting close to invoice should be happy with that on an order.

Anyone who wants one that is on the lot at a dealer you can expect to pay up for it.

I wonder if this one dealer I went to has the same info you do lol. They wanted $1000 over invoice for a WRX order. I'm quite happy with my order price but I just feel sad when I see people getting stuff on the lot for cheaper without the wait lol. I tried to get one that came in this week and was slapped with a $400 over invoice after much much negotiation haha

That's absurd. SNE or whoever is running the Subaru show out there is completely ridiculous. I went down to Heuberger last weekend, put in an order for an STi at invoice without any haggle and had a VON within an hour. I even got to test drive a 2012 STi they had on the lot.

If you don't mind the road trip in a new car, I always want to say you should look into ordering from a different dealership, maybe even Heuberger (now I sound like a fan boy ). They will even pick you up from Denver International Airport (which is what they did for someone that flew out from California). It's a bit of a drive from Colorado to NY, but it might be worth it so you don't get jerked around like you are.

Wait time for me atm is about 4 months~.

Yeah, but see, you mentioned Heuberger. They do things different from just about every other dealership. He just happens to be the biggest dealer by a huge margin. That margin was double the #2 dealer just a couple years ago. You can't compare what they will do to any other dealership. I have heard of them in the past actually PAYING the airfare for a customer. Not just picking them up AND selling it to them below invoice. It's been said many times in past weeks that SDC and SNE have different procedures in the way orders are done; so, to call them ridiculous is not fair nor accurate.

Yes that was me. Heuberger is great. Jenn Bell over there was wonderful to work with. Her follow up has been excellent as well - just to check in to see if I was happy with everything. I wouldn't think twice as they can ship the car to you as well.

I mean just look at this thing all ready for winter -

wow i was looking at some dealerships in SoCal and to my surprise a Subaru in Orange county has 19 wrx total on lot and in-transit. They even have one that matches my order. I guess that's where everyone wrx are going.

So my eta is still nov. 19, but I called SOA to see if they could give me any details. The nice fella told me my car is at the port in baltimore and could come a week early or late. Its current status is scheduled and the next and final step is shipped/released.

Not that we didnt know but he also said theyve gotten a huge number of orders for the wrx and sti, more so than any other year.

I wonder if Subaru is trying to use up all of the parts left over before the 2014 models~

A buddy of mine and I were chatting and was wondering if the 2011+ WRX wide-track suspension was due to the model change for the standard Imprezas - no point in producing parts for a non-existent car.

Do you guys think a 2013 STi sedan (base model) for $35k out the door is reasonable?

That's probably not bad, what's your tax rate, doc fee etc and what is MSRP on the car?

Weird, I had the exact same thought upon seeing a 08-10 NA Impreza this very morning! When they split off the 11+ N/A Impreza into it's own beast, little sense in continuing the narrow body WRX. Otherwise that would've been 6 body styles of Impreza!
