Default Terrible experience with Import Image Racing

I ordered a set of Fortune Auto Coilovers that had a lead time of 3-4 weeks. I emailed customer service @ IIR every week after 3 weeks, just to get updates on my order. ďLooks like your order has another week left!Ē Is the only information they would give me. Not only that, they tried to pitch to me a different brand of coilovers than the ones I was purchasing, saying that they could ďship *that brands coilover* out to me right awayĒ this came across as horribly unprofessional.
After another 3 weeks of hearing the same thing and not receiving any concrete information, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I emailed Fortune Auto directly and asked for an update. They responded immediately, telling me that my order had already been completed and was shipped out - they even provided me with the tracking number... all while hearing nothing from IIR about my order being shipped despite them promising that they would ďcontact me right away when my order ships!!Ē
Iím also frustrated that I was told my coilovers would take 3-4 but ended up waiting over 6 weeks ó however I donít think I can blame IIR for this issue.
I will not being doing business with IIR again; itís pathetic that I had to contact the manufacturer to get my tracking information. This defeats the entire purpose of working with a middleman like IIR. This is unfortunate as IIR has a seemingly great selection of products.

So the only thing they are guilty of is trying to get you different coilovers in a faster timeframe (how terrible!) and not immediately giving you tracking once it was shipped to them (I'm sure they have thousands of customers)?

You understand how ridiculous that sounds? People are dying from cancer and you're so upset you wrote a review because you didn't get your custom order coilovers in a "reasonable time frame".

Wait... isnít this a forum for Vendor reviews?
Why are you talking about people with cancer?
If I went to a restaurant and got food poisoning, should I refrain from writing a bad review simply because there are other people in this world who cannot afford a meal at all?

Also, no, I never received notice of shipment. It wasnít that it didnít happen immediately, it never happened. My order went out over a week ago (09/05) and I was just today given a tracking number from the manufacturer. Which was my original point ó if IIR can not do the task of getting me my tracking information, why deal with them at all?

My mom is dying from cancer and I when reading this not once did I think of bringing it into this review pretty sad that you did, find another reference when trolling review threads cause you sound like a twit.

Yea you can write anything you want, thatís the great thing about America! As you write a terrible review others can also critique that same review! Shocking not everyone agrees with you, I know.

They tried to help you out with alternatives to fit your tight timeframe which somehow translates into a negative? How dare they! They then didnít even have the courtesy to give you an immediate same day update! Blasphemy!

No review trolling here, just putting this into perspective that people are dealing with far worse **** (your mother) than someone not getting tracking number or an offer to change to a different (in stock) set of coilovers. Many people die of cancer every day (like my step father), Iím sorry you took that reference to heart, it wasnít directed at you or your mother as you can imagine.

what you said sounds much more ridiculous than the OP. maybe you should leave your personal issues out of the vendor reviews.

he's upset because of the unprofessional handling of his situation....which he has every right to be.

Right, because whining on a forum after they offered him different in stock coilovers and didnít give an immediate tracking update, warrants a forum post bashing a well known and respected vendor? Give me a break. He didnít get a tracking number, is that going to delay when it was delivered?

Yeah, doesn't seem like a big deal. Not enough to write a review over.

Sounds like they were doing what they could to keep in touch and even offered an alternative.

They are coilovers. Is your car down over coilovers? I doubt it. Sounds like you're a little too used to instant gratification.

Hope they see this. I love when vendors chime in with their side of the story.

IIR had nothing to do with how long the order took? I couldnít possibly blame them for that.
My only frustration is that I had to reach out to Fortune Auto myself to get shipment information.
This, to me, defeated the purpose of purchasing thru a vendor like IIR.

Hi, i apologize that my team did not get back to you as soon as you would like. i wish i would have received a pm or a call, i would personally look into it for you. Fortune auto stocks nothing and makes each item to order, they are always 3-4 weeks. We have other brands with faster turn around for those who do not want to wait. To be fair, on every listing on our website they state "4-WEEK BUILD TIME IS NORMAL" so it takes 4 weeks for fortune to make the product and then a few days of shipping time. Fortune doesn't give updates, just tracking after they ship it on our fedex account. I'm just being honest and open about the process, it's not like papa johns or dominoes where you can place the order and watch the progress, it just doesn't exist for that company. We place the order, they ship it in about 4 weeks, and done it is. It's been this way for the past 8 years that we've sold them. Great products, but the process takes too long compared to their competitors. I apologize and understand about not wanting to wait, if there is anything i can do to help i'm always a phone call or email away, even at 10pm I'm sure i can help with some rewards points or personally serving you on the next mod.
