Default Advice on Climate Control Repair?

Hi - I have a 2013 Impreza 2.0i Premium with Manual Climate Control (3 knobs each with an inlaid button). This is one of those lovely Subarus where you have to disconnect the climate control cables every time you want to access the radio. (There's also a bulletin from 2016 that warns that if you put "stress" on the electrical connector to the fan switch, you can burn it out. - So a great design overall :-) )

Anyway - the button in the fan-speed, that enables/disables "recycle air" stopped working. Dealer wants me to leave the car for them to "diagnose" it, but seems to me it has to be the switch. New assembly (can't replace just the switch) is $342 at dealer, $256 online. I can get one from a junkyard yard for $60 - and since I'm already adept at pulling the panel it seems easy to replace. Why wouldn't I take this route?

Thanks!
/j

Never mind. I picked up the used part (6 mo warranty) 30 minutes to swap it (was quite easy if you're already familiar with how to pull the radio) - new one works great!
