I wave/peace at WRX/STI owners all the time...in my CT200h.

So, if you see a guy in a gray CT200h waving/peace at you, give some love back.

So it's not a Subaru wave, it's a WRX wave?

Yes, for the most part-only car enthusiasts wave to each other. Itís an automobile love thing. But honestly, Iím very much an enthusiast, but some days Iím not in the mood to wave, especially driving around people in Sacramento region, theyíre the worst drivers anywhere, hands down. Iíve lived in LA, Boston, and the Bay Area, but no where else do drivers lack awareness or are as overall crappy as they are here.

On that issue...I drive a WRX, but wave at all Subarus. But I only get waves back from other WRX/STIs.

We then no longer feel the same camaraderie with certain others we once felt. Sad? I dunno. Time doesn't stand still. Wave good-bye to the past.

Damn dood. You're making way too much of this. Oppressed? W T F???

I didnít even know it was a thing when I bought mine 2 years ago. Thereís one dude in town with a 2008ish WRX that always waves. He literally wears a flat-brim with white Oakleyís (not really my demographic), but I wave back to him every time. Most other WRX and STi owners seem oblivious, and are often young women.

The first 10 years of the WRX in the states were exciting times is the explanation. But Jeeps wave right? Maybe when they stopped looking as unique is when they werenít as ďspecialĒ anymore?

Youll get the wave from all kinds of folks, in subarus and other makes just depends on your area and if people see you or not.

I don't really pay attention to the waves so obviously I don't wave back. I do notice when I am driving on highway sometimes another Wrx would catch up and try to go side by side with me. I don't bother looking over so not sure if he was trying to wave. Now on the other hand when I ride on my motorcycle most people do wave and because it's more obvious when we are both on bikes I also wave back.

Got a wave from a 15+ sti..I was in my outback! That's a first. I wave whenever I can. This guy in his offroad outback was too busy looking at his phone to see my wave.

Lol have you been to Worcester? Between people having no idea what a turn signal is and constantly having their phones three inches away from ugly mugs blatantly texting away Iíd say itís safe to assume central mass people could give Sacramento people a run for their money

But other than that itís not abnormal for me to get at least one wave a day if I do drive the wrx, and usually it is the modified younger crowd, but Iíve met a couple of guys in their 40ís and 50ís who talk to me for hours about our cars. I havenít met one wrx driver who didnít have at least an interest in the car community

I tend to wave to Subarus with a hood scoop, I also thumbs up vintage stuff; I get waves back from most.

It could be folks aren't waving back at you if you have super dark tint. I can hardly tell if I'm getting a wave or the finger from WRX/STI owners that have heavy front tint—I hope it is always the former. BTW: no tint on mine. Ya, I'm not cool, but I bought this car for its visibility.

I've decided I'm always going to wave to WRX/STI drivers. Others having dark tint makes it a little awkward. Like Glarry said earlier, it is also awkward getting waves from absolute clowns (like the 04 mustang that was rusting away, muffler delete, driven by a vaper last weekend). I was left hanging this morning on Rt 200E by another hawkeye with a FMIC. Very sad. I think he had some anxiety or something... a little bugeyed.

Most WRX owners wave here still. STI owners less so.

Reminds me of Porsche owners back in the early '70s. The burning question was whether Porsche owners should wave to drivers of the Porsche 914-4. It was sold as a Volkswagen in most of the world, but as a Porsche in the US. The 914-6 was sold as a Porsche everywhere.
