Default Subaru Trade-Up vs Trade-In program

I've heard of the guaranteed trade in program, but what is the Subaru trade up program? I find it confusing that theyd have two separate programs with such a similar name

It's just another way to get you to come to the dealer.

Not sure regarding the trade up, probably what he said ^^

The guaranteed trade is for models which meet certain requirements: year, mileage, accident free etc. Subaru will match the value stated online if the dealer doesn't offer a matching or fair market trade in. Since most people here are Wrx owners the value holds pretty strong but for the rest of the line up.

From my experience, it appears that the Trade-Up program is a dealer-specific solicitation and doesn't really have a proper endorsement from "big" Subaru.

My first new Subaru dealer used to send me comparison mailers that would show my 2009 Legacy payment and then an approximate payment of what a newer model year Legacy would cost me if I were to trade the '09 in (never mind that I traded it in to a different dealer in 2012). Years later, they're still sending me those here and there, but now with the giant Trade-Up logo.

It's definitely a Subaru program.

Sorry, totally botched my wording on that. I meant that the Trade Up isn't as explicitly advertised from Subaru compared to the GTP, and it seems most of my run-ins with the Trade Up communications come from dealer-specific mailers.
