take all the wrxs from 02 and up, even the gc8 and up, and there are changes but they all still look like wrx's, the 08 just isnt a wrx, it doesn't have that wrx look to it, thats my biggest concern with it, and though i have come to appreciate the 08 sti's, i still hate the 08 wrx's......and yes there is a difference

We got a brand new silver '06 Impreza 2.5i wagon for my wife 2 years ago and have grown to like that newer look, but the new '08 just looks like another one of the millions of jelly beans out there. It doesn't really stand out as a Subaru. The '08 sti model looks ok due to the added testosterone, but could be sooo much nicer. It's odd that Subaru, not being big "followers", have decided to follow the ubiquitous design trends.

Would still love to have one though, just for the driving experience!

Am I the only one who feels like the front design looks like they carved it out of the top half of a soap bar, added a little chrome, filed it around the edges, and voila?

I dont like how the grill and headlights seem like all one piece going across the front. When you look back it seems like one blob shape with a Joker smiley face in the middle imo.

(sorry not trying to rap on your ride bhhamblin)

Maybe I was being a little harsh =P

The soap bar is in reference to the way the flat fender flares curl around to the front in a box shape while the hood lines change around it if that makes any sense.

See here

Surely I'm not the only one who thinks that square meets curve which I tried to emphasize by outlining the various contours and edges on the front end in that picture.

Its ok if you like it, I was just trying to point out contrasts in lines and flows that don't make sense from a design standpoint.

Yeah I do. I like the new sti's just not sure about the wide body look on the 08's. Kinda looks like a bloated WRX. . I'll put my sti dreams on hold for now.

i guess these will take some getting used to, just like the GC guys hated the GD's when they first came out and viseversa, anyways isnt this supposed to be a picture thread and not a discussion thread?
