Default re running 17 or 18 in the snow is it possible

I would like to do a bbk big brake kit cause I drive fast and am crushing [email protected]@ on the stock equip. So my question is can I run a larger rim with snow tires in the winter and stay on the road I drive allot for work etc and live in buffalo. I have rode on all seasons for the last 2 winters and those were plenty good.
Any recomendations would be great.

Of course you can run 17's or 18's in the winter, with a winter tire. There are many more winter tire available in 17's though. Nokian Hakka 1's are available in 17's, for 18's you have to go with WR's, both excellent winter tires IMHO check them out at www.etires.com. Now you would get much better snow traction with a smaller wheel of course, but with the brakes you dont have this option.
