Default Can anyone explain how to remove the inner tierod from the rack

I need to know how to remove the inner tierod from the rack on a wrx. whoever changed my name, thats real cute :P
any help is greatly appreciated.

If you rip off that metal band thats connecting the boot to the rack body, you can peel back the boot to expose the ball joint. Then you have to take a flathead screw driver and bend back the saftey washer that locks the ball joint to the rack. Then you can just unscrew it.

You will need to install a new washer and hit it with a chisel or flathead to bend it back into the V-shaped groove when you put it back together. The ball joint gets tightened to 50ft-lbs. You can buy a new band and safety washer at subaruparts.com

yeah i read something and concluded that from the low ratio rack someone had done a writeup on. so i tried pring those tabs with the rack on the car and it is a big pita. also i noticed i have a bent control arm too. now i am just hoping i didnt damage the frame. stupid curbs. thanks for the help though. i just had the car flatbedded in. It's beyond what i want to deal with at this point.
