Default 04 Wagon Eibach Question - Strut Killer?

Everyone seems to say that Eibach, Prodrive, etc springs will "kill" my stock struts. Well, everyday driving with stock springs will also "kill" my stock struts. Can anyone tell me how much faster my stock struts will "die" if I install the Eibach Pro Kit on my 04 WRX wagon?

I'm looking for a mild drop, with only a slightly firmer ride. Any other good (and inexpensive) suggestions?

Thanks

I would say ~30-50% would be a good guess. Stock shocks will last 70K, I would *guess* that stock shocks with eibachs or prodrives would last 20-35K or so.

If you want that without upgrading your struts, the Eibachs are least aggressive, least strut killing choice.

is that 30-50% reduction in strut life a wild guess, or one from experience? New struts every 20k isn't a great option

It's a completely wild guess. A lot depends on what you do with the car on those struts.

Well, but at least you would't put the stock struts back in there after the first 20k miles, would you? My guess is that eventually you'll have to upgrade your struts as well.
