Default Mac folk - can't install Tiger on iBook G4 1ghz

My friend loaned me her OEM copy of Tiger that came with her newer iBook 1.4? ghz. I have an iBook 1ghz. I tried to install Tiger but it told me no can do. ??? I am well within the recommended specs - 512mb ram, plenty of disk space for the install, etc.

No, that works fine with 10.3.9. In fact, that worked fine with Windows 95. But I want some of the new software that's designed for 10.4x.

It's probably because It's OEM. My iBook came with restore CD's, not a OS cd so it would only have the drivers and things needed for my ibook. If hers is oem, it's probably only for her model laptop. The CD knows you are putting it on something that shouldn't have tiger, so it wont let you. I just downloaded the update DVD's online. I mean I bought them
