NOTanEVO,
As far as I know your ECU will be jdm stock map, unless the previous jdm owner changed it, none of the imports give a damn about what map is on there. I would highly recommend staying out of boost until you have the car tuned, you are flirting with blowing your brand new motor by running wot on the jdm tune. This is rehashed several times in this thread and backed with stories of blown engines because people thought it wouldn't hurt (and it may not, but without logging you simply don't know.) Stay out of boost until you get a tune.

....So I'm following the DS1 procedure for wiring my AVCS, and I notice that the Subaru schematic shows B84 pin 10 as Blue/Yellow, and pin 11 as Blue, but the DS1 instructions say opposite. My car is wired as the OEM manual states.
I'd hate to get the polarity wrong That also may be why some aren't having immediate success. HTH, S. |

While people should, and do, get tunes even on their stock USDM Sti, for the safety of not having knock, this business of JDM fuel as a need for tune is really not based on any fuel-related facts in areas where you can fuel 93.
And this, based on the documents, we can agree on. This does not mean that you can transfer your mods and run on the stock tune, or that you can fuel it with 91 on factory tune, or that you can run it with an USDM ECU and no tune, or, etc, etc. Also, fastnyopi, finding the truth only derails misconceptions. |

No you wouldnt really be able to hear it. Get a tactrix read up on open source tuning or just really wait for STI Mikeys tune. Gonna need a wideband too. Ive seen the Knock issue Clark has talked about and would'nt be surprised if you havent knocked your IAM down a few points even with one mildy hard pull untuned. The JDM map is very aggressive.

This is a little off-topic but I was wondering if anyone here is running a Ver. 8 207 with an SPT 3" cat back exhaust or an Invidia 3" Q300 cat back exhaust. I currently have an HKS Hi-power and it is way too loud. I installed a hi flow cat in the system but it is still too loud for my taste. I was wondering which system out of the SPT and the Invidia would have the most power but be the most quiet?
Thanks |

Borla hush sounds nice, i'm just not a fan of the twin tip look. Also consider the
Greddy Evo 2 if you want quieter |

I've got the Maddad Whisperback on mine... love the sound. Its nice and quiet at low RPM and then at WOT its got a perfect amount of noise for me.

NOT,
You are probably just fine. Your IAM is variable and will be taken care of when you are tune. Don't freak out, just take it easy until you get tuned. |

Did any of you with a v8 swap into a Bugeye have to modify the Front O2 connector (B18) to fit the v8 stock O2? My connector does not fit either the USDM STi O2 or the JDM v8 O2
Also think I got the wrong radiator, or at least the fans...the fans on the v8 radiator have a 4 pole connector on each side, and the Bugeye (and JDM STi) uses 3 pin flat connectors. So much for plug ang play |

I just had a EJ207 v9 Spec-C swap done and I got the KillerB oil pan/pickup/baffle installed. However, it seems to be rubbing against the header. Anyone else have this problem/know a solution?

Hey. I just had my v8 swap done. I'm having problem with wide band. My ecu detects it but shows it's status as not ready. Car idles on low rpms. I replaced sensor and still no improvement. Any idea what that can be?
Thanks for any help Tom |
