Put on Evo X GSR Enkei's on. Likely going to powder coat them black.

- Replaced some of the dash / center stack parts (upper vents / HVAC surround, ash tray/12V outlet, and lower trim cover) with somewhat cleaner/better ones I had gotten at the junkyard. Also added a couple missing fasteners so the whole center stack is more solidly mounted now.

- Pulled the stereo and un-screwed the wiring. It's got a Sony stereo, and for whatever reason it seemed like there was an adapter harness plugged into an adapter harness plugged into the factory harness. And all the connections were done with wire nuts. So I chopped out the redundant adapter harness, and redid all the splices properly.

- Partially routed power, remote lead, and RCAs for a small 2ch amp for the rear speakers. Should be able to finish all that up tomorrow or this weekend, at which point the interior will be back together and (should be) fully functional.

Finally finished installing the my new-used Invidia Q300 to replace my old leaking stock one.
Even with the extended hangers, I still had to space down the rear hanger another 1/8" for the tip to clear the OE Subaru hitch.

At my age, you buy the exhaust that people complain is too quiet.

Yeah, I like that color with the black wheels. Would look even tougher if you wrap or plastidip the chrome around the windows to make it black as well.

--------

As for my own car, I took advantage of the nice, warm afternoon to finally finish the interior on my Impreza coupe after work.
- Wired up the 2ch amp for the rear speakers. "Mounted" the amp with zip-ties through slits in the carpet under the passenger front seat. [Pretty amazing how compact and light the latest generation of amps are!]
- Reinstalled the rear seat, which now has seat belts (that will probably never be used while I own the car, but ya never know!).
- Reinstalled the passenger front seat, which now has the seat belt latch actually bolted in place!

So, it only took a couple weeks, but it is no longer a 1-seater.

- Oh, and on Sunday I removed the stock single-port header, with it's rattling heat shields, and installed a stainless unequal length header that some dude made and was selling in the classifieds here. I had to bend one of the primaries a bit to stretch them out - they were about 1/2" too close together. Quick work with a vice and a jack handle. And the flange at the cat pipe is slightly twisted from ideal - maybe 10deg off, but close enough to fit the bolts through and crank it together.

With the stock (I assume) cat pipe, the new Walker mid-pipe, and the STI axle-back, it sounds pretty good. The car is pretty gutless, so I didn't want the exhaust to have more bark than the car has bite, and I think this setup is about right.

Picked it up from paint yesterday....just to get home and notice a scratch on the passenger fender and one behind the Grimmspeed Relocater. Looks like they scrapped the U bracket from the kit on the car when putting it back on. Guess I'll be calling today about them just for them to tell me that I somehow did it.

They told me to stop by so they can look at it. I will see how that goes.
However, both look very light and I feel like I could get them out but I don't want to mess up my fresh paint.

Did the so-called "H6 rear" upgrade on the '96 Impreza today. Previous owner had converted it to 4-wheel disks, with 2.5RS/WRX rears. I knew the rears were in bad shape, in need of at least rotors and pads, so I figured it was only a little bit more to do it all. Got the calipers and caliper brackets from the junkyard, so I probably only spent 20 bucks or so on those.

The passenger rear was in worse shape than I thought, I think the caliper was probably stuck (didn't bother to try to compress the piston, as it's junk now). The outer pad clearly hadn't moved in quite a while and was frozen in place. One of the bracket mounting bolts snapped off as soon as I put any torque on it to loosen it; fortunately I found a suitable replacement in the nuts-and-bolts bin at the hobby shop.

^^^ You can see the passenger side rotor in the bottom right corner of the pic, outer face was mostly rust due to minimal pad contact.

Kind of a crappy picture since the caliper and bracket are obscured from view. I put some high temp black VHT on them during one of the warm days a few weeks back.

- Adjusted the driver side parking brake, which was a bit tight after installing the new rotors this weekend.

- In the process found that both banjo bolts on the "new" (junkyard) calipers were leaking. Brake MC reservoir had lost about 1/2 the fluid in just a few days! Oops. Tightened both banjos, and will keep an eye on the fluid level in the coming days.

2005 Saabaru just installed my APv3! Stage 1 won't let me boost so I'm trying to find the reason! Stock map runs excellent though

- Scavenged all of the trunk interior bits from a Impreza sedan at Crazy Ray's and installed said interior bits into the trunk of my Impreza coupe. I'm still using a trunk carpet out of a 1st gen Legacy. It doesn't quite match up right - a bit too long at the back of the trunk - but it's good enough for now. It's also significantly better quality than the trunk carpet in my 2nd gen Legacy, which I thought was interesting.

Installed JDM extended armrest and coin holder, diode dynamics interior, reverse, and license plate LEDs. Waiting on the backordered low beams and also have C light bulbs that will go in at the same time too. JDM rear fog also came in but I'm waiting on the backordered Subiebros pnp harness for that. Also gave it a bath.
