![]() all networking is good networking, so here goes...
After 6.5 years at ATX Communications they are closing the office I work out of here in NYC (HQ is in PA) as we come out of Chaper 11, so it's time for me to move on. I'm looking for something where I can utilize my telecom experience, but I'm not determined to stay in the telecom industry itself. I have extensive experience in product development, project management (including site construction), personell management, legal and regulatory projects and financial analysis. At one point I managed a construction project with a budget of $6 million, and after that I became the manager of our marketing department of 16 people spread across 9 offices. Currently I am the Senior Manager of Carrier Relations where I work on regulatory and legal issues. Right now I'm looking for consulting positions at the big 3, corporate side positions at i-banks, or product development / department management at any reputable telecom company. Any help is appreciated, drop me a PM if you have any contacts or want to see my resume! Alex |

![]() Hi. One of my clients in NYC needs really solid helpdesk people. They are a PR/media/advertising conglomerate that owns/manages 84 companies nationwide. Midway through 2004 they decided to centralize their helpdesk (and some other IT) functions here in NYC and came to me for help. Here is the full description:
>>>> 8th Ave near 15th St Supporting ~2300 users (currently, almost certainly will grow) in Windows XP as well as Mac OSX. Office XP is a must, graphics/desktop publishing (Adobe, Corel, Macromedia) knowledge a plus. Will handle call from cradle to grave, entirely remotely. Candidates need to know standard help desk issues, escalation principles, trouble-ticket tracking, etc. This is part of ongoing strategic consolidation of regionally-based support structure into centralized technology services. Critical area is Level 2/3 call-center experience (remote-access/control software is a big plus) and Microsoft Office XP/System. <<<< These positions are contract-based with rates of $30/hr, which is pretty darn good compared to the "desired salary" I see on monster.com. Our trouble has been that a high % of people responding to our ad either don't have the skills they claim to have, or are total flakes who stop returning calls or don't show for interviews. These contracts are 3 months initially, but our client wants to build some long-term stability into the team from the get-go so extensions are possible out to 1-2 yrs. They may also try to convert the top-performing contractors into fulltime but haven't made their final decision yet. If you want and will commit to a position like this (or know somebody who would) please post up, email, PM me, or call me (908-303-6775). In our dealings with this client, good resumes get interviews a few days after submission, and good candidates get offers 1-2 weeks after interview. DjB |

![]() Hi everybody. As some of you have found out from emails direct from me, the only update is not good. One of the people we placed (actually, that I placed) just walked off, 3 days into his contract. He worked for them in the middle of last year, kept asking about throughout Nov-Dec about the new helpdesk, they asked for him by name in the first week of January, and he f'n ditched them. So this client is a bit ticked with us and we'll probably have to let them bitchslap us around until we've made proper penance.
I do know that the Macintosh requirement is pretty non-negotiable. I've stored all the resumes you all sent me, and built a full skill profile for each person, because we have other help-desk positions open, and we're apparently back on the list with AT&T, and Aventis in Bridgewater NJ has helpdesk stuff every few months. And I'll circulate resumes through firms we have links with, but not many of them do a lot of help-desk/analyst stuff; they're more into software development and stuff like that. I wish this help-desk thing had gone a lot more smoothly, but this guy flaking out on them has monkey-wrenched us pretty good. The day he split I was so worked up I got acid-indigestion and got teh runz. I'll keep in touch, and feel free to keep in touch with me. DjB |

![]() Hey fellas whats up.. The bike dealer Im working for is looking to hire some new guys. I know for Sales, and parts (Not sure about service).. Unfortunatly I don't have ALL the details like Pay, fulltime or part time. (Bike Sales Im sure would need to be full time). If your interested I'll of course find out more details and put a good word in. Send me an email to let me know at
[email protected] The shop is: Suzuki/Yamaha Fun Center in Bensalem, PA. They sell Street bikes, Dirt bikes, ATV'S, Waverunners, Sport Boats, and everything in between. They will be expanding the building size (Twice as big) within the next 6 months hence the need for new hire's. They have a tuning tub for the waverunners, and a bike/ATV dyno. The parts department is normal size for your typical dealer but of course will also be expanding. Also the owner sponsors some great riders, and teams like Troy Vincent's (the pro football player's) pro drag team. This shop isn't your regualr ol' mom and pop's place. Right now of course if you walk in it looks it but that will all change once the renovating begins!! -Sales Position: I would suggest guys with some background knowledge, or passion for the products, and of course a friendly attitude. -Parts: Same as above apllies. Let me know if your interested or know someone who is.. Thanks guys, Bob |

![]() If anybody out there is looking for a full-time job with great benefits, check out Enterprise Rent-A-Car. I've been working with 'em for 2 years now and I can't stop talking about how much fun it is and how well they treat their employees. We do have long hours, but we are always looking for reasons to party. If a day is hectic enough, after closing up we all go to Fridays or some other place for happy hour (and we expense it of course!). Last October we rented the USS Intrepod for a "milestone" party which was a blast. I guess you could say we work hard, but party harder.
![]() Okay, now time for the requirements. You need to have a four year degree in something. Doesn't matter what, just a 4 year degree. If no 4 year degree, 4 years of sales experience works too! Also, you can mix and match, like having an associates (2 year) and 2 years of sales experience. And most importantly you must have a clean driving record. So if you've got caught trying to out-run the cops, don't bother applying. Finally, if any of this interests you or you have any questions about the job, shoot me a PM. I'll be glad to honestly answer them to the best of my ability. To apply, go to their website for recruitment and fill out the online application. There is also a bunch of info on their site about the work environment. When applying, put my name down as your referral so they can call me and I'll vouch that you're a hard worker and a good person! ![]() Tom Greulich (Employee # 6317W) Enterprise Rent-A-Car is always looking for new-hires (mainly because we're always under-staffed) and we're found all over the US. In fact, we're the largest rental car company in the world right now, and as long as there are cars around, we'll be renting them. So give it a shot, you've got nothing to lose! BTW, did I mention we're desperate for help and we provide superb benefits? Good, just checking! |
