Default More Craigslist Derps (not even from General)

So I'm looking for some alloys with tires for the CRX. I see this ad in craigslist

http://worcester.craigslist.org/cto/3338613624.html

full set of 16" msw rims with pirelli tires, tires are pretty worn down but the rims are good

I figure....what the heck. It's near my house and near my work. I'll give it a shot and shoot off this email to him.....

>What are your wheels from?> >I'd be interested if they fit my Honda......but your ad has no info about what it fits. >

His response

yeah i dont really have much info on them, exept they got the 4 hole fitting and they were bought custom at a rimshop

Yah, well great. You don't know what they fit? Dude.....what kind of car did you steal these off of?

c/n: Craigslist derps are craigslist derps

Isn't the bolt pattern(and other info) typically inscribed on the back of the wheel face?

Even worse than the ads are the people looking to buy stuff.

I'm trying to sell one of my motorcycles right now. One guy came out with 2 other buddies of his, and they all agreed that it was a good deal. He says he going to go get the money to buy it and he'll be back in an hour. Never came back, never told me he wasn't coming back.

Another guy today sent me an email asking if the bike had been dropped, if I could provide pictures and to text him at a certain number. Literally all of that information was available in the add including MY NUMBER which he could have texted me at in the first place.

Another guy drove over an hour to my house to look at the motorcycle only to low ball the **** out of me and leave. He called me a little later and offered like 200 dollars more which was STILL a low ball offer and I had to straight up tell him he was wasting my time.

Unbelievable.

Edit: Ooooo someone just text me about it as I posted this. Let's see how it goes

Im looking at an S-10 on the local CL

1994 4X4, salvage title 68k with a few easy fix problems.
$1600 OBO

I text the number, guy responds immediately and seems to be very knowledgeable about it and tells me about it including the problems. Im going to look at it tomorrow since my car has a dead cylinder and i cant afford a new engine.

Could be a happy CL ending but you never know.

Also trying to sell our RV, had many calls with people very interested but have never had anyone come out to look at it. Other smaller items have been bought and sold without any problems at all.

When I sold my jeep I had both ends of the spectrum. Rust bucket with a blown motor. Good wheels, new tranny waterproof seats and lots of good toys if you had the means to part it out. Stated clearly this vehicle was for parts only.

2 guys came out to see it and asked to test drive it. When declined they wanted to know what I thought it would cost to put it on the road.

Finally I get an email telling me I can take the ad down, and he'd bring me asking price in cash a few days later. A Saturday morning. Asked me to confirm the vin, and made sure the tranny was new.

I had faith, so I pulled the add. He left central PA and drove 4 hours. Met him at 9am at a shopping center 100yards from my house. He said it was in way better shape than he thought and managed to drive it up onto his trailer ( a good 18" high).

Turns out he owned a place that builds rock crawlers and my jeep had the axles and tranny he wanted. It was a good deal for him. Straight forward, no nonsense.

Oh, I know. I assume nothing less. I just don't understand how anyone can think that is acceptable behavior in the situation. I think I have too much faith in some people.

Meh, just because they have nothing to lose doesn't mean they can't at least be more respectful.

I've pinpointed the exact moment when the world will end.

It will be the moment that Jackifer makes a post in OT without mentioning his CRX.

This would be a perfect twin to my son's CRX! (world ain't ending today)

If this guy had the wheels for $25 for the set of 4, it would be worth going and taking the chance. Not worth my time at $150 without tires. Heck.....when I'm selling guitars on CL, I put at least 4 pictures, describe it exactly and even mention that if the ad is up, it's still for sale.....and whether I'll take trades or not. I guess some people just dont "get" craigslist. Sorta like the newbie who stumbles into OT without understanding.

Ive been eying wheels for my car on cl.
Search. 10 different posts, different wheels on the ad, different locations.
Open up the ads and all the pictures are exactly the same or on the same place.
My guess is they are stolen.

I was selling my wife's iPhone 4 on Craig's list. The first legit buyer wanted to trade an Atrix for the 4. Why the **** would I want another phone when I mentioned in the ad that I was only selling in the first place because it was an extra phone? And why would I trade for a phone that has zero resale value?

Ended up getting $250 cash from a guy that was going to take it back to Chile (he's a missionary).

Jack, why don't you look for some Honda wheels that are a little better sized. You should be able to find some 15", 4x100 that would fit your CRX better and still be cheap. IIRC, your CRX is pretty clean and throwing wheels on it like the ones in that ad would look terrible.

Some Integra LS wheels would look proper and wouldn't run you very much.

I always forget how much of a PITA craigslist is until after I try selling something. Upfront it seems like a great idea. Then I start getting emails from scammers and people low balling followed by begging me to sell it for X price.

The worst is looking for a new beater. I set aside time several times to go look at cars to find that the car was already sold the day before or the owner flakes.

Tried selling my 05 sti with more mods in it then I care to remember or list. I had the car listed for $2,000 under book. Kid hits me up and comes to check it out with his dad. They pull up in a newer 7 series. Take the kid for the test drive and the dad offered me $3,000 under my asking price. I showed him the values and he still offered me the $5k under book.

Waste of time.

I am quite sure most of you have seen the rather large green dragon that has been flying over Beaverton for the better part of a week. I am looking for someone to:

1.) Lure said dragon away from Beaverton to a more rural area. Banks? Forest Grove?
2.) Force said dragon to land in rural area.
3.) Slay said dragon in whatever way you see fit.

No Pay, dragon slaying is it's own reward.
Please note that I am not talking about the red dragon that frequents the area from time to time. He and I have an agreement.

ughhh...gotta love craigs. So I have a few items i decided to try and sell. Usually I have pretty good luck.

I have an iphone 3gs that I'm selling. The screen is cracked, but only at the top, so it's still pretty useful. Anyway i get a text the other morning at 4:38 a.m.. I looked over, saw the text and went back to sleep. get up in the morning, get ready for work and text back. Quickly found out it was the beginnings of a scam. When i say "$60, cash only, no trades" don't tell me you "want to buy it for your lovely cousin", and "do you have paypal?"

yeah, but not for you.

So i get another hit today. "what's the lowest you'll take?" i ust said $60. Go try to find one on CL that cheap, do it you **** tards...

Sigh.... some people function so well in the world and a simple transaction via craigs is easy and everyone is happy. Some people want the world for only $10...

Portland is an entire community of brokeasses. Trying to get what something is worth on craigslist is essentially impossible. I've been trying to sell a pair of turntables for the better part of a month with no interest at what I consider to be a very reasonable price fro some very nice tables.

Cake Farter (East Village)

I know this sounds bizarre, but I need someone (preferably female) to come to my friend's birthday and sit on his cake and fart on it. It will be in a public place and will not be a dangerous situation. Just for jokes.
