Ok..after a couple of weeks of intermittent play, I'm pretty impressed.

Campaign was good. I'm not sure it's my favorite, but definitely near the top.

Really impressed with the multiplayer maps. The small maps are really a blast. And a few of them are freaking enormous. It's like there is nothing in between.

The "palace" map...with a 4v4 match, you can pretty much go the full 10min and only see the enemy player once or twice!

I love the greater realism in the sounds and visuals.

I do like the Oden for my AR. It's just accurate enough.

The P90 outfitted for better accuracy and range is awesome. It's my go to on all the small maps and ones with tons of corners.

I'm also loving the PKM for accurate, deadly punch for the gun you never need to reload.

I ended up getting a legit headset to play this (always just played off the speakers) and yikes is it a bit disorienting at first.

By that I just mean there's way more going on and it takes some adjustment.

I believe that. I've noticed footsteps and other noises are more prominent than older CoD titles.

It's frustrating too. In one of the yuuuuge maps I was running around inside a large building. I could hear another player running around inside, but we never could find each other. That went on for like 3 minutes.

I finally jumped out a window and ran around the map. I only saw 2 other players the next 5 min. It was a TDM match and I don't think either team broke double digits in kills before the game ended.

Yeah i've had that happen plenty of times. And some of the buildings seem to go on forever and the multiple levels don't help either.

The toughest thing with the footsteps is that hard to differentiate ones that are on your level, vs ones that are above or below you.

Weird, the audio seems toned down vs BO4 for console players.

Love the game, but I am ass

this is definitely a thing but with the last patch the devs said some other changes are coming soon specifically around the footsteps.

We have an update rolling out around midnight PST tonight, 11/11. Since we have notes ready, we figured we'd post them ahead of the update going out. Check out the fixes below:

GENERAL FIXES:

More backend fixes to prevent crashes and improve stability across all modes and all platforms
Riot Shield:

Fix for a bug where a player using the Riot Shield would not take explosive damage during certain situations
Fixed an issue where the Riot Shield would stow on the players back when using Stim. (Tactical)
Footsteps

Adjusted to always play walk footstep sounds when in ADS and crouch independent of speed
Increased the speed in which you can remain using the walk footstep sounds by slightly pressing on the movement stick
Challenges

General fix for the UI and Challenge state getting out of sync. We'll continue to monitor and make additional fixes as needed in future updates
Fix for a challenge related error that could occur; DEV ERROR 5476
Fix for Mission Challenge description, “Get Kills with a Burst Weapons” being too vague.
Piccadilly:

Spawn tuning while playing TDM and Domination
Domination flag adjustments; B Flag is now near the busses instead of the center fountain
Weapons:

ARs: Minor hip spread adjustment
725: Reduce range
M4: increase hip spread, decrease damage to the head
FAL: Reduced recoil, increased ADS speed
EB-14: Increase ADS speed
Miscellaneous ammo reserve adjustments upon spawning to be in-line with other weapons of their class
Special Operations:

Fix for a bug where a player using the Overkill perk with an SMG as their secondary would sometimes spawn without a primary weapon when joining a match in progress

This is more so PS4 related, anybody know the threshold of space needed to download updates? I literally had 90 gb free and MW wouldn't allow me to download the latest patch unless I cleaned space. The patch was only 3.5 Gb.

You need the entire ****ing space for the game available

I had the same thing happen, but the way the PS4 installs updates is completely ****ed now. They do the copying thing which takes for****ingever now because it recopies the entire goddamn game for every update.

Okay, so it essentially duplicates the size of the game to perform the update. Wow.

You need 200GB for this ****ing game. **** off. Who designed such a trash system

That makes sense why the copying step takes 30 minutes. I thought it was just copying the update.

About 3/4 of the way through the campaign...it's pretty awesome. That whole bit playing as the little girl is ****ed up but must be very realistic to what many people have gone through in the Middle East...

This was needed.... 725 was super OP. I still use overkill with that as my secondary, but I think that shotgun needed a big nerf. Also the M4 is still the best AR, but good that they nerfed it a bit.

Still meh about the maps, but I like the new one currently. Good ol 3 lane map.

yep, dumb as ****

supposedly helps prevent corruption, but I'd rather install 209 small patches and get one corruption that requires a reinstall than reinstall the whole goddamn thing every time - it only works if you have rest mode updates enabled AND have all that damn space available to recopy. I had 94GB free and I couldn't install one of the <10gb updates like a week ago.

Yeah the 725 is not nerfed at all.

Last night it was still showing up all over the place and you were going down in an instant.

They had already nerfed the M4, this one feels a bit too much. I was getting so many hit markers last night and then getting shredded. I only need a few more camos

xclusive ace tested it - the range increased because the ads pellet spread narrowed down with zero attachments

M4 basically went from 1 headshot 2 body shot kills to 2 + 1 needed for a kill at close range (or 4 body)

I'm sure the M4 still hits.... It has very little recoil, and is super accurate. I'll agree with you that I don't think it needed a second nerf, as I forgot that they nerfed it the patch before this. I think they should really focus on getting that 725 nerfed, as it's become the norm for any playlists.

I'm trying to like other AR's like the Fr 5.56 and the Oden, but nothing is as consistent as the M4. I guess not anymore Haven't played since Sunday, so I'll have to see how this affects gameplay.

That took me by surprise playing it after the update. The 725 is still a beast though. I have a shield/725 combo that just kills it in the small maps.

I love this game. The campaign was a lot of fun, and the multiplayer is built the way COD should be.

ahhh you're one of those ... If you can't beat em join em.

I detest the 725 for that reason, but I use it as a secondary with some classes. It's just ridiculously annoying when mid range you're getting clocked by a double barrel and die with one hit.

I need to get on this LMG wave....I also need to unlock AK ASAP.

I think the challenges are a good addition so far, since you know at least what you're doing challenges for, instead of some random loot box with 3 commons.

Agreed, I like the challenges much better. I'm hoping that the other game developers recognize that they went full retard with past COD releases. It's good to see them back to reality.

But the LMG are no joke. I have a couple of LMG loadouts, an M4 and an AK. I had no luck using the SMG though. They're almost a moot point right now.

But yeah, dat shield.

If you want to try smg's again, i would try the MP5. The best SMG imo. Just make sure to load up on attachments that increase aim movement speed. It has a very predictable vertical recoil that's super easy to control, and it melts mid range even. I think one of the suppressors actually increase damage range too.

Other than that, there aren't any other SMG's that stand out. AR's are definitely the meta right now.

Guys, have you tried the MP5? Once you get the lightweight stock and the light barrel (I think?) that gun is stupid fast to bring up to ADS. I’ve been wreaking havoc with it.

MP5 is only 3 shots to kill in close range, too.

MG34 (3 shots) and Oden (2 shots) were the only two faster TTK weapons.

I think I randomly picked up modified MP5 off the ground awhile ago and I killed like 5 people with it.

I haven't been able to replicate that yet. Couldn't remember the load out.

Post up your mods.
