SSAutochrome FMIC installed on my bugeye

After I blew the main bearing on my engine I decided to go with a USDM 2.5L Sti shortblock and match it with my WRX heads... So I decided to upgrade the intercooler at the same time and managed to get in on the $550 shipped internationally deal they had in September.

Well it is finally all put back together and here are the results

Is the BOV piping included? The versions I've seen include a BOV or require you to weld a flange on. Looks good!

wow, that looks really good. I love those style of intercoolers...was it direct bolt on? or was any cutting and what not required?

There is a flange that will fit a standard FMIC BOV like the TurboXS one.. but I wanted to keep my APS BOV that I had on my top mount... in the picture I have my stock WRX on there...

Once I get it tuned after the break-in period I will be putting my APS back on. Just had a local guy fabricate it.

Yeah cutting of the bumper was required and you remove the stock bumper beam.. it has a supplied replacement.. the replacement is definately not structural.

Had to make a few adjustments to make it fit... My mechanic put it on when he was done putting the engine back in. Said that it looked like it was made for a 04-05 but with some adjustments were able to get it to fit in the 02-03

It looks like you were able to retain your fogs. Does the kit allow for that or did you have to make some adjustments?

You know, I never did ask him how much fiddling he had to do to retain the fogs.. when he first looked at it, he wasn't sure if he would be able to keep them or not.

Not sure if he had to just trim off the excess on the corners of the replacement bumper beam.

Vibrant was just down the road from the shop that put my car together... my mechanic just got it from them.. the reducer that was needed as well

Good so far... I have to break in the brand new shortblock first before I'll really know..

So I have about 1500km's to put on it before we tune it... Right now I am limited to mild tune of 6psi of boost by my tuner until I get some km's on it.. then we crank it up
