this particular thread isnít about this, but I got a massive score on some pieces from the junkyard for my winter/utility vehicle (BH5 H6 Outback) and Iím looking forward to retrofitting them and turning it into a weird behemoth.

I can only imagine what your wagon will transform into. Many years ago, there was this insane looking a legacy wagon on Japanís Minkara website... true beast. Although itís an older gen in comparison to yours, thought this might lead to some inspiration.

yes! the AS Mori wagon is absolutely incredible. I wish we received cool Legacies sooner in the US. if I were to build a Legacy entirely in my own inherent style Iíd prefer a BG5 twin turbo. however this is just my winter/utility vehicle and Iím operating under a different philosophy behind building a car as itís intention is different. preliminarily considered a NoAllegiance LUV (Luxury Utility Vehicle). therefore BH5 H6 works really well. I love the flat 6 and being non turbo is much more reliable without being sluggish like other non turbo Subarus. this specific one is the VDC model which was absolutely the highest trimmed Subaru available in the US at the time, and most of the features included in that still work on my car despite having 200k. since itís got it all I want to keep, utilize, and maintain all the luxurious features and maximize the utility of it all simultaneously. Iím still working out the ideas I have for that as well as learning what I need to as a lot of it requires vehicular stylings I never take interest in.

anyways, hereís an update look at fitting the Baja pieces to the car. just have the rear over-fenders left to modify.

Amazing images as always. I'm no photographer, I'm horrible at taking car pictures, but yours always seem to capture the car's personality, if that makes sense. This one I love:

I normally don't like the "aesthetic" because there's a lot of people copying off each other in this style. But there's real originality here and I get super stoked any time people are building cars that actually have wear, battle scars, and actual character. I love everything about this build, except the white thing on the front. But it's your car. don't listen to other people lol.

ive admittedly never done anything to satisfy a specific aesthetic other than the style that is organically my own. Iíve certainly done my conscious work to grow that and improve upon it but not to form it to some planet or standard created by someone else. there is an amalgamation of inspiration that bleeds into what I do and who I am but I am aware of it and how to ensure that it is represented but doesnít take control of who I am.
I appreciate your appreciation for the machine. it has and always will bear all of the weight of its usage in this world and the rest.

the chargespeed turbo a Supra duct wonít be white for long, along with the black C West grille and some other pieces. still looks weird to me too, I just had really wanted to mount them up at the time and waited to get them painted to collect a couple other components.

after a 500+ mile round trip to some mountains this weekend, I took the outback on another hour-each-way journey when we got back to pick up some GD pieces. I made the purchase solely for the trunk lid (to continue work on my VERSION::SELECT wing) and the dashboard, as I have a lofty dream for it. not only did I get them both for a steal, but the seller was looking to rid themselves of a lot of spare GD parts they had and I took everything that would fit in the H6. most of it I wonít need and likely wonít ever use, but as these cars get older itís become relevant to hoard more of the OEM miscellaneous parts that arenít just the cool stuff. itíll be nice to have if anyone ever needs them.

sorted out new and refined storage base today, and used the utility tank to haul everything and get an idea for size and space. operations will be as cold as they ever have, but a little more serene. more things to move and some items to search for for better utilization of the space and storage, and need the salt in the road to be banished for a day to relocate the BloodMachine...but a good weight off my shoulders nonetheless.

picked up a GD STi rack this weekend, it came with inner and outer tie rods along with the whistling bump steer tie rods that Iíve already got. doesnít hurt to have a replacement.
also came with this steering rack lockdown kit that supposedly works with it, but is listed for newer model STi? not sure if it still works or what but it was included with the rack so I took it.

Iíve already got the aforementioned bump steer correction kit and an STi steering knuckle, and some new rack bushings but Iíd like to replace as many of the lines and all as possible while I clean it up before install so Iím gonna be looking into that now if anyone has any suggestions.
