saw one in person two weeks ago. like the z3, better than the pics. but i really don't like the trunk. it works on the 7, but it's too bulky on the 5, i think.

here's a question: what's the deal with car companies making all their models look the same? vw did it with the passat and jetta, then did it again with the A6 and A4 (and now A8), bmw is doing it with the 7 and 5, i can't tell an M-B C-class from an E-class from an S-class...ugh. just stop.

It's called Brand Identity. Marketing has more say over product development than you think... BMW (and others) want you to recognize a BMW the second you see it, even if that means making all their cars look the same...

If you're only going to look at one element you may as well say it looks like an Impreza

BTW, the 5, 7 and z4 are teh ugly. Only the 3 remains and i'm sure they'll ruin that, too. If i'm spending 30-100k on a car, it damn well better look good. Which the bmw's don't, IMHO.

Well, I was just going off the view mostly seen in the comercial. Was dark out and most views were of the car from the front going down a curvy road. I honestly did think for a second why a Grand Prix had Angel eyes. Had the comercial been more in the day light I may have realized it was a BMW faster...but all I could see was that nose and the 2 large round grills.

Just giving you crap Although if you look at ancient history, BMW had that grill first. I'm thinking the mid 80's grand am was the first Pontiac to 'copy' it.

But the BMW trademark grill was 2 rectangles. Anyways, Our 1978 Grand prix had the 2 big grills upfront......which were rectangle (like everything else in the 70's). Pontiac has used that style grill from back in the 60's with the GTO and Tempist.

I drove one the other night, it was a 5, I don't know which one, 540 I think?

292HP, that one,

I drove it and oh man, lots of power, kinda freaked me out at first when I touched the gas pedal, POWER!
