2013 Impreza (5-door) Rear Ended
So my 2013 Impreza was rear ended by a distracted driver. What happened was I was the last car stopped in line at a red light and the other driver just crashed into me. I was lucky I didn't get pushed into any vehicles in front of me as the light turned green and vehicles in front of me started moving before the collision happened. Here's the damage...
Me: Other driver: Here's some more pictures at the body shop getting the repair estimate done..

Long story short...my 2013 was written off and ICBC paid me for a new 2014. I'm glad to be back in an Impreza.

Good luck with the estimate and repairs.
What's with all the "reserved" posts? |

Wow! Sorry to see this. Looks like a hard hit. Hope you're OK.
It's a bit hard to tell on hard to tell but your D pillar looks tweaked, causing the issues with the right rear door. I hope you don't have any frame damage. Good luck! I hope it comes back better than new. |

Wow, the frame looks seriously tweaked. That car will never be the same again, especially in an accident.
Total. |

Sorry to hear that. I would have your body shop guy do all he can to push for a total.

Unfortunately body shops make more money by doing the repairs then pushing for a total. I know from experience when a garage collapsed on my Mustang convertible. It's NADA fair trade-in value was $8200 so the shop owner (who also happens to be the adjuster) wrote up the estimate for $7800 worth of repairs. After it was fixed up, it looked phenomenal but absolutely everything rattled and the convertible seals leaked in heavy rain so I ended up selling it.

I would hope for a total on that. It will never be the same car again with that extensive damage and you can say goodbye to a good resale value.

I got the estimate back...it seems close for it to be totaled. I really hope ICBC does not approve it for repair. Especially after reading the entry "PULL & ALIGN UNIBODY".

That is pretty darn close to the 50% threshold. For your sake, I hope ICBC replaces your vehicle instead of opting to get it repaired.
...I wonder if the shop just gave a lowball quote so that they'd get the work (and not have it written off, for which they'd earn nothing). |

Welcome back, and glad to hear that ICBC saw the light and replaced your vehicle. That's got to be the first instance of the new vehicle replacement policy coming to fruition.

Congrats on getting a new car! It wouldn't have been the same if you got your old one fixed

For those in the GVR, the shop I took it to was Blue Chip Collision. They're certified to do Subaru warranty repair and my experience was excellent with them. |
