I own an 07 2.5i and have been waiting for a direct bolt on uel header to purchase. I have heard that rallisport racing was trying to come out with a product, but I don't know how the progress is coming. I am very excited to hear about this uel header production. I will be checking for updates!

ive been following this thread for a while, and all i have to say is, im one of those quantity over quilty guys, i like cheap. and cheap enough that if it breaks i can go buy another one without much thought, so i think im going to stick with ebay for 125$ shipped. goodluck if you ever get this header in production

For example, a $50 ebay up pipe costs more than a $175 brand name up pipe. Trust me, I've seen a dozen clients figure that one out. |

I'm a fan of cheap and easy upgrades as much as the next guy, but when these headers are posting up numbers like these you can see where your money went.
I will be getting a set of these when they come out for the 08+ NA crowd. I know its not going to be cheap, but it will be worth it. these headers with an intake and exhaust plus some cams and an access port, will be a relatively easy way to start scratching at the 200hp (not WHP) NA level without breaking the bank on fancy internals |

Just to show you that there is a potential market for the 08+ crowd, (I know its beating a dead horse) I'd definitely buy one if they came out

Im interested in 06+ (06 2.5i) I am not exactly sure whether specifications for an 06 are the same ones that the 08+ exhaust system has. I just know 06 is different from 05 and previous. I'm sort of rambling, can someone clarify if there's a difference in exhaust routing from 06 onward (07 08 09 ect...) Thanks

Thought I would give you guys a little update.
A "little bird" told me that the Moore Performance NA UEL Header would be available soon. The starting retail would be around $800 and would be available with in two different metals (mild steel or stainless) and ceramic coated. |

That is about what I figured the system would cost, hopefully it's quieter than my current setup

I will say its on the quieter side but it definitely can be loud. When you get on throttle hard its loud but i don't think too loud.

I'd be interested in a mild steel set of mostly equal length headers if I could figure out a way to use the stock O2 sensor(with jumper if nec) on my '06 OBS.

The prices listed on Tom's website are YEARS out of date. His current pricing is hundreds lower. Yes, I have mentioned to him that this is costing him sales due to people getting scared off by that but he kind of doesn't really care due to how busy building race cars he is.

You can't argue power in the UEL vs EL depate. People here have avoided TWE and Cobb (along with Rallitek and OBX clones) specifically because they're equal length. It's why people buy Borla headers and the Borla knockoffs. However, people WANT a good unequal header for sound AND will last. That doesn't exist on the market other than Haward & Scott over in the UK. Their header is a good $1200+ to get shipped to the US. There are no other UEL options that are really well built. Moore is filling that void. If people want cheap UEL, they just buy the cheap Borla knockoffs. If they want something good, they buy this.
For anyone wanting to argue power gains, first ANY aftermarket header option will improve upon the stock design. Second, you never buy an UEL header if you actually cared about trying to make peak power. The people that should be in this thread and should have interest in this header are people who are not looking for peak power. They are instead the people looking both for some gains and a burbly exhaust note. As to the price, $800 is a GOOD range for this type of product. Seriously, this is a company trying to make a well built product. Guess what? You pay money for quality. The price for this type of work is reasonable. These aren't people mass producing parts with extremely low labor costs. Moore isn't exactly in the business of just pumping out headers either. Needless to say TWE's had a little more time under their belt. As williaty has pointed out several times, the prices are not as bad as their website suggests. Then again, TWE and Moore aren't exactly in competition. Often UEL and EL aren't exactly competing for the same market segments. Moore is more specifically competing against Borla, the clones, and Hayward & Scott, and Moore's trying to build a premium product, not something just slapped together and tossed out the door. |

No one is arguing that these are not well built our that they don't improve on the stock design but an el of equal quality will not improve peak power, it will improve power throughout the rev band. There is no rpm or load where an uel design is more efficient than an el.
With that said I think a quality uel design is a great idea for those who want the best quality and max performance possible while still having that unique sound of a uel design. I have doubts about selling many to the n/a segment. Just too few n/a owners willing to spend that much coin when they could get the same sound for $650 less. |

"but an el of equal quality will not improve peak power"
I assume you mean UEL. It's the pressure wave pulses specifically that raise peak torque. The EL will be peaky around the tuned frequency(rpm) but similar to an UEL at all other rpms. An EL will have about a 4k rpm band that it should perform better. |

Since I've owned my RS, I could not tell you how many threads I've seen basically asking how can I get 20+whp out of $100. Or you get guys asking for a specific product to be made, said product is made, and then guys say... OMG, f this its too expensive I'll by XYZ companies knock off. In my opinon, though it might favored Moore Performance, they produce the best quality UEL header around. I love the way it sounds and the power gains I've gotten out of it. I can't wait to see what it does when I actually get an intake on it and tuned. So, to spend a decent amount of money on quality is a simple choice. |

I hope they make a set for the 08+. I have a 2011 wagon and it would be a wet dream come true if I could buy an uel that would bolt right up and not throw any cel's or have to fight and get sensor extentions and such. I would start saving right now to buy one.

Yeah, I think I'll still buy one at that price point for the 08+
It just might take me a little longer to justify it to myself that i need it. |

Question: How is the header that TWE provided you for your sponsorship holding up? I'm assuming it is, since they quality seems nice from the website. yes. AFAIK, it will be the next n/a part available for a group buy. Then full carbon fiber cold air intakes, then a "stage 2" type n/a package for earlier cars, including an engine management solution. |

Yes, almost 3 years on with 3 Ohio winters on it, it's still absolutely perfect. No rust, no cracking, no pitting, no change at all. |
