Exclamation OT - Pepper Computer, Inc. hiring interns and senior staff.

Hey, all. For all of you jobless freaks...please check out the Web page for contact info and tell Pat that Sean sent you:

http://www.pepper.com/hiring.html

Interns - We are looking for part time interns for Java and Web programming as well as quality assurance duties.

Senior Hardware Product Manager - We are looking for someone with an electrical or mechanical engineering background to manage the design, development, and manufacturing of a new consumer product. Requires at least a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or computer engineering; an advanced engineering or business degree and experience with project management processes and tools is a plus.

Software Engineer, Media Programs - We are looking for a junior- to mid-level engineer to design and implement programs geared for teenagers on a new computer product. The candidate should have good UI design sensitivities, experience with Java Swing based UI development, and perhaps some graphical design experience. Experience developing compelling programs and games on their own is a big plus, as is familiarity with making skins for various programs. Candidate is expected to have a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related area.

Yes...Pepper Computer, Inc. - Computers for Teenagers. Teens and tweens are our primary demographic and, as such, you get to leaf through juicy teeniebopper magazines all day.

Seriously, though, awesome working environment. It's a shorts/t-shirt type place and most of us just walk around barefoot. Plus there's a fully stocked minibar in the break room and all the free soda, snacks and candy you can stuff your face with.

2) can it become a permanent job?

3) does it pay decently?

Don't know the specifics of the position because there are no specifics. Someone basically said, "we need interns," and that was that. I think it's a "tell us your skills and we'll make a position for you" sort of thing.

Had you gone to the URL in the first post, you'd know where the place is located. But yeah, Bedford, MA right off Exit 31b. Regarding pay, see answer #3 above!

I'm underqualified to even be an intern.

When they need a dork to either do gruntwork for them or need a "Head Video Game Tester", let me know.

Damn... I'm employed but that sounds like it would be a nice change of pace and I do swing/GUI stuff all the time. Too bad it's near Boston... not my kind of town, unfortunately
