Default question about the sti rear diff sensor(fill plug)

hi, i have a question about the USDM STI rear diff sensor(fill plug), my friend broke his (fill plug) and the dealer said the plug is on back order for about 2-3 weeks. he is wondering if he can use WRX or another fill plug to dirve the car for while? thanks

I don't see why he can't use a WRX plug. The wire is for the diff temperature. He might get a CEL if he drives with it disconnected, but that is no big deal.

beside CEL will there be any other problems? will he still be able to use the DCCD? thanks

Are you sure?
Any way Wu this forum is for....
Factory 2.5L Turbo

You might have better luck asking...
Transmission (AT/MT) & Driveline
Technical discussion about any Factory/Aftermarket parts related to the Subaru transmission and driveline
(transmissions, gears, axels, torque converters, clutches, shifters, etc...)


Someone in a thread like this who has experience with the tranny might beable to help....
