But will the 5x114 hub fit inside that rotor?

I don't think it will. But with so many affordable 5x114.3 rotor choices you're better off buying a pair off the shelf than doing custom machine work to the 2.5i rotors.

I agree but when you do that your parking brake drum is the wrong size, and won't have the same contact patch, machining will give you the same problem. So the solution would be swap spindles or deal with the poor parking brake right?

Or to solve the parking brake dilemma would be to go dual calipers in rear with an individual ebrake.

Oh well ya I love that idea and dream about it from time to time I'm running mine in series with the brakes, but not a solution for everyone

sorry guys, the car has just been sitting in my driveway, i have been super busy with work, and then the motor on my banshee blew up, so i had to spend a bunch of money on that... and then the motor on my daily blew up, so i had to spend a bunch of time/ money fixing it... i should be making some progress on the subaru again here really soon

i have all of the parts that i need now, i just need to take them in and get them put together... i found out that the 240sx slip joint for the transmission will work with the subaru transmission, so that should save some people a big headache down the road.

So are you using 2.5i or sti spindles?
What are your plans for brakes if 2.5i?
I didn't think 2.5i brakes would fit over bigger hub, if they do this will be a cheap swap for me, otherwise I might aswell but sti spindles and brakes. $$$$$$

Thanks in advace, I don't mean to clutter your build thread, I really love the ingenuity, it's a sweet build
right now i have 2.5i spindles, but i dont know how well they are going to work, i plan to switch to sti spindles asap... i wish i would have just waited and got sti spindles in the first place.

i plan on fabbing up brackets to run dual calipers on the back

Drive shaft is not something i want to come flying apart from any kind of weld.
i will be having a custom one made, but i dont want to pay for shipping when i can have one made local

the 5x114.3 hubs will not fit inside of the 2.5i rotor... my plan is to run sti rotors, and machine the centers out to fit the 240sx hubs. ( i got the idea from the canadian dude with the drift legacy) (sorry man, i forgot your name)

Oh good I was hoping you were going to chime in here, I didn't feel right filling up you thread without you on here.

That works out well that the drive shift will fit the tranny. Does it fit the seal right too?

The hub will probably fit in sti rotor, there bigger than the wrx/impreza. If anything maybe machine down the hubs a little so you can keep the parking brake. That's my plan, but I was hoping impreza rotors fit so I would have to change spindles.

Also if your going to change to sti spindles, your modified s14 hubs won't fit as the sti hubs are bigger. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure.

I've been looking at getting a tig also, does it have ac I've heard thats pretty important when welding aluminum.

Looking for to you finishing, I want to start mine soon but I don't have the car yet.. Haha

Now you just need a better welding table and lighting.

Tell me about it lol, it's just a deep single car garage, so space is very limited,I can't wait to get a real shop some day

The seal seems to fit right, I haven't tested it with fluid, but the od of the nissan and subaru driveshaft are the same, so I don't see why it would leak.

The hub centric part of the hub is bigger than an sti rotor.so you have to machine a bit too make it fit

You see correct on my modified hubs not working if I switch to sti spindles, I will have to get another set of hubs, and machine them to fit the sti spindles.

Yeah, it has ac. That was the main requirement that I had when I was looking for a tig. This machine isn't as good for aluminum as a syncrowave or inverter style machine, but it works just fine for me, plus down the road I can always sell it for the same price thatI payed for it, if I decide to upgrade to something newer

Ok adding some info hope that's ok

S14 hubs are 67mm (roughly) centric
Sti is 56.15mm there is not enough material to remove that from the hub

so it looks like the only option is to bore out sti brake rotors

Then oem sti wheels won't fit so get used to that.

Hubs will fit inside sti parking brake drums though so u can retain oem sti parking brakes

All s chassi driveshafts fit on trans output but I'm not sure if the s13 flange is going to be to big?

I'm not sure about axles length yet as I'm trying to get my friends to measure them for me still

I'm collecting parts still so I haven't started putting it together, so ad more and correct me if I'm wrong

Good info, and from what I've read, s13 and s14 passenger axles are needed.

So you can base off of those lengths.

I'm pissed I missed a whole rear s14 subframe assembly with axles, hubs, diff, and everything for 100..

Wow thatsa good deal, I read thatabout the axles also, ongoing to be puttingit on gd chassi and am not sure how that differs in width, what is the factory length of passenger side axles? I have a s13 one but I'm not sure the length as it's not installed

So - you're hacking up the 240SX driveshaft for the shop to make a custom piece, or are you using all of the driveshaft and fabbing mounts for the 240's driveshaft bearing?
