Default STL Happenings

I decided to start a separate thread so that I'm not clogging up the "Spotted' thread anymore. I'll update this with any cruise/meet/event info that's going on with the Subaru scene in St. Louis.

January Cruise:
FB Link: https://www.facebook.com/events/502934016413358/

Ok, so since the votes basically broke even for Saturday vs. Sunday I'll plan something for both days. Seeing as I drive the route anyway on a Saturday I don't see any problems. This next one we will be breaking away from the back roads of 94 and Washington and we will be going into Grafton, IL and through Hardin and come back towards Stl via the Golden Eagle Ferry. Ferry Fees = Car or pickup truck: $8 one-way or $15 round trip. Motorcycles: $5 one-way or $9 round trip. I'm thinking of the meeting place to be either at Pere Marquette Park or the Piasa bird maybe. Once I drive up there and check everything out I'll have a better idea.
So, first I'm taking input on what weekend works best. So if one weekend in Jan works better than another, speak up. I'm leaving the actual polls on FB and STLSubaru open until Friday, and will post results Friday night.
*If the first weekend in Jan is chosen I won't be able to attend but I'll still get the info together and hopefully someone else can lead.

As of right now it's looking like the weekend of the 26th and the 27th is winning. And there isn't a whole lot of voting going on anyway...as promised though I'll leave it open til Friday so get on FB or STLSubaru if you want to offset the votes.

Cruise Update:

I will be finalizing the route over the next couple weekends. I will tell you that this will include at least one ferry trip (possible two) and depending on which way you choose to go towards the end of the cruise it will either be the free Brussels Ferry or the toll Golden Eagle Ferry (Ferry Fees = Car or pickup truck: $8 one-way or $15 round trip. Motorcycles: $5 one-way or $9 round trip).

FYI!! I will say that I drove around a little bit there last weekend and the roads that I drove were not well paved at all. Many dips, many curves, many many blind corners. I'm not saying straight gravel or dirt roads, I'm just saying condition of the roads is deteriorating. I'm not sure how well a lowered car would do seeing the condition of the roads and boarding/leaving the ferry ramps.

January Cruise

See the links below for the route(s) of this cruise.

This is the 'pre-cruise' route. Starting in St. Charles, meeting around 1PM, leaving at 1:30PM. We will be taking the Golden Eagle Ferry and Brussels Ferry. Golden Eagle costs $15.00 round trip so if you plan on coming back with us then you might as well go with the Round Trip fee. The Brussels Ferry is free.
http://goo.gl/maps/Ve4pe

This is THE route. The meeting area will be at the parking lot directly across from Pere Marquette Visitor Center/Lodge. I suggest that anyone planning on meeting here, instead of doing the pre-cruise', get there around 1:45 and be prepared to leave around 2PM at the earliest. The ferry rides may cause a time delay for the 'pre-cruise' group arrival.
http://goo.gl/maps/J4eRb

The cruise is about 73 miles long and there will be about 2-2.5 hours of driving time depending on if you do the pre-crusie or not.

This is definitely not for lowered cars and everyone needs to really keep your distance between cars. The roads are in ok shape, but you will definitely need to keep your eyes open for dips, pot holes, etc. A lot of these roads are narrow and filled with blind corners and some pretty decent turns. Remember to bring cash for the ferry.

January cruise will be on Sunday the 27th. There was not enough interest in a Saturday cruise so this will be Sunday only.

Cruise is cancelled.
Apparently they already had snow up there before this hit and this just adds more to it.
I will reschedule this for later in Feb and hopefully the weather will cooperate with us that time.

We will be cruising on Sunday 2/17.
FB Page: https://www.facebook.com/events/375908835839814/

The route will be the very same as the January cruise was.Times are the same as well.

I'm really hoping that the weather holds out for us on this one.

See the links below for the route(s) of this cruise.

Oh yea, we are having a March Cruise

Date: March 24 Sunday
Meet time: To be announced - Earlier the better really
Location: To be announced

This is a place holder and meant to gain interest. February cruise was a bust possibly because it was in Alton and the ferry fee and the roads out there and the weather. I'm looking to make a return to Franklin County roads with the March cruise and we will get some more video and what not so that we can attach something promotional to the Scoobapalooza Event.

Stay tuned while I get this one planned out.
No FB Page this time cause I feel like that just has false attendee information now.

See the links below for the route(s) of this cruise.
