Angry So are there any products that can actually keep car windows fog-free?!

Geez, had to run the window defrost almost my entire commute... goodbye gas mileage!

Any sprays or some-such that will prevent fog from forming on the inside of the windows and on the side mirrors (thanks to Subaru penny-pinching, no heating element on those). I tried this fabric pad thing that you wipe the inside of the windows with, and is supposed to work, but not so much.

I have some pretty good stuff I use on my single lens goggles. I'll see if I can pull it out of the garage and get a label off of it.

I use this on my motorcycle helmet, and it works really good. I don't know if one would be enough for a windshield, though...

All the anti-fog stuff I've tried has caused some serious windshield streaks that blind me when the sun hits the windshield.

RainX makes some anti-fog stuff that works.

I know it works because on days when conditions are right to fog them on the inside, I can see the places that I missed since they are fogged up and the rest of the glass isn't.

You can buy it either in solution or as a wipe. I use the wipes and keep them in my car.

But first things first.....you have to keep the glass clean, no matter what you use. And I'm not talking about just giving it the once over with the windex-soaked rag. After you clean it, you can apply your anti-fog solution of choice. Then you have to buff the glass.

You probably have to do this at least quarterly. If you smoke, likely more often.

That would be because you skip the critical "buffing" step outlined above.

I find it important to keep the glass clean. Dirty windows fog much more easily.

this is EXACTLY why i disconnected the A/C from my defroster. i can still turn it on if i WANT, but by default, it no longer comes on when i simply want to pass air along the inside of my windshield.

Keeping the inside of the windshield clean should minimize condensation. Has the windshield ever been replaced? Maybe it wasn't sealed right. And there are quite a few anti-fog products out there. Try a bunch to see which one works best.

Crack the window open a bit? Do you have a waterleak?

I used some of the Rain-X anti-fog years ago, and it worked wonders. I should really hit up an auto parts store soon for some more.

Yup, I use microfiber to clean mine. No fogging issues.

Yeah, that was my biggest gripe from my 02. That wasn't a problem in my 05 or 06, you can use the defroster w/o compressor.

How did you do that? I am no fan of the automatic A/C BiG Brother telling me that it needs to be turned on. Is it a fuse??

BTW, I love the name of this product:

I'll have to either try that out, or the RainX stuff.

I already keep a side window cracked open a little, as well as have the recirculated air turned on. Some days though, the conditions don't let the windsheild to clear up for more than a few minutes at a time.

if you smoke cigerrettes, a film of smoke builds up on the inside of your windshield.
