Finished stripping a set of 18x8.5 rota svn's down to bare metal yesterday- today is a bit of touch up sanding in a few spots and then painting starts.

I used plasti- dip, but any outdoor paint works I think, I just used fine sandpaper to sand down some of the top coat, primered, paint, and clearcoat.

I got my paint from dipyourcar.com

Autozone has specific paint for engines and stuff like that. Nice little Saturday
project.

I actually did the wheels in rattle can spray paint, looks pretty good.

+1 for plastidip.....it is not permanent so if you don't like it you can peel it off however it doesn't peel off on its own. Besides the trunk trim on Brian's 11 Limited I have also done it my wife's 2011 Outback fog covers and rock guard.
A little hard to see the passenger side one but this picture was taken to show the grill wrap and subie logo...see the lower rock guard and fog covers are black they come light grey

It holds up well and if it does start to show some wear, peel it off and re-apply.....it doesn't harm your factory paint either.....Napa, Lows, Home Depot and so on carry the product....it is a spray can so it will be with the spray paint.

It also comes out looking like a matte finish (at least it did on mine) so I just used some gloss on top, and it looks great.

On topic;

Put in a Koyo racing radiator after the stocker went out along with some black samco hoses

Also had the magician come work some magic on the fugly dent in my trunk lid

Before

After

Almost finished with roof rail delete, new window tint, carbon fiber vinyl roof, DIY duplicolor Black roof interior and door cards, DIY plastidip'd interior trim and pillar pieces. Hope it all goes back together well after being disassembled months ago packed up and moved to a new house...
