since the hood scoop is sunk into the hood as opposed to raised above, this new wrx somewhat gives me a CTS-V vibe.... 4 door performance for an adult with no large wing or gigantic hood scoop.

I have no idea where you guys are getting the Camaro from. I see the SHO though, which I like, a lot.

The tall beltline. The doors are huge on all these newer cars. The camaro probably suffers from it the worst.

The front bumpers are too tall too. Pedestrian safety regulations or something.

It's a concept RENDERING, and it won't. Those brakes cost almost $10,000 by themselves. That's damn near half the cost of a current WRX.

They're saying those aren't renderings, they're of an actual physical concept car that will be on display at the auto show.

But otherwise I agree. Like any other concept car, on the production version the styling will be toned down and it will lose the high end performance parts.

It would be sick if those brakes were off the STi, and the STi is now set to compete on the level with the GTR. The WRX version is the 4 cyl, and the STi gets a turbo'd flat 6! Just dreaming.

From the side view it kinda looks like a GTR all squished with an extra door.

Ok, not THAT much alike.

I used the wheels to scale the cars together. GTR has 20" wheels right? This concept had 20's as well.

I would like to see another comparo of it against an Evo X. I can visualize, as others have, a similar profile.

I think you are a little jaded based on that feather weight you drive. 3000lbs is the new 2500lbs

Meh. With all this new technology you would think they could make cars lighter and more powerful than ever. In my personal opinion I think performance is out as far as Subaru is concerned and luxury is in. I hope they prove me wrong but I'm doubtful.

That's just it though, all the technology is heavy, and it has to beat all the safety standards. Personally I wouldn't mind a bit more luxury, or at least just a higher quality interior.

Actually increased crash test safety regulations and overall safety requirements are what have driven up the weight in modern cars. Technology has allowed for lighter-weight, yet stronger high-tensile steel to be used in Subarus, but having an airbag for every square inch of car gets ridiculous after a while. Airbags for the KNEES?! Come on!

Also Subaru has been lagging in the luxury department. Bluetooth has only become standard for MY2013 Subarus. I doubt not having it would drop a significant amount of weight and only adds to safety features.

Also, Americans aren't getting any smaller.

I think them doubling in size has a little to do with it too.

This! a Red solo cup has better quality plastic than the interior of a WRX.
