ASK ABOUT NEW RCE
SWAY BARS FOR STI

Default LeMans 24hr 2005......who is watchin' it?..and who is playing GT4 for 24hrs....?

Every year we have a 24hr party to see who can stay up the entire event and also play GT3( in the past) , well this year we have 24hrs of Lemans in GT4, so I figured we should start when the race starts and haeve teams and no more than 4 drivers. No beer isnt an option( lol) .

At any rate,.who is watching this year?..its bound to be great coverage by Speed.

The Pescarola LMP is my car for this year in the game at least.

cheers-

Myles @ Racecomp

****.. that would pretty much fill up my TiVo.

I hope I get to watch at least the end of it.

Is there going to be a C6-R entered?

and they are off the pace to the Aston Martin's
Champion Audi's off the pace of the Pescarolo's... (freaking weight and air restriction modifications) I think they really want a French team to win

He's doing OK. He managed a decent time in qualifying but, his teammates are faster. Here's what he had to say on Thursday. It is actually interesting to hear him say it is so much harder then rallying. I would have thought Cyprus was right up there on the roughness scale.

"I have to learn very quickly. The team took a chance when they asked me to come here," Loeb told the race's official website on Thursday.

"They're here to win. I cannot be a burden for my teammates."

Loeb said he had to deal with problems he was not used to in rallying.

"I do not have a lot of experience in these type of races. In rallying, it's less physical," he said.

"I sweat a lot and I need to drink a lot and have good meals."

I'm confused. Does that mean that you can't drink Beer or that you must drink Beer ?

I prefer the double negative so that I can't not have Beer

As opposed to: No, Beer isn't an option.

Well before I was a responsible adult.... , we would try to drink the whole 24hrs and stay up , same thing at Daytona 24hrs..( yes we had a designated driver off duty cop friend who tolerated us being idiots. )

So no beer for the last 4 years during the race.

What's up with the Speed coverage? Its either 1) pitstops & garage or 2) interviews. Where the hell is the racing?

Blame the French TV station covering the race. Speed is just really giving their own commentary and interviews, and super-imposing some position graphics from time to time.

Coverage so far can be summed up as "not so great"

I'm still going to be watching though, and rooting for loeb. I feel like a traitor for saying that but- those R8's need to lose once in a while.

I'm not one to just "be satisfied" with coverage, as I always like to complain

But I'm happy they're even COVERING this thing so much throughout the day. I know they get the benefit of having non-primetime hours due to the time zone difference, but dayam- if you want to stay up til 6:00am watching it (or TiVo it...) at least the option is there!

Coverage has gotten better again, but is still a far cry from the years past when it was SpeedChannel and ran 25 hours of coverage .... flag to flag and opening and closing ceremonies!

I'm watching a fair amount though. I still really want to go. Absolutment one of the very highest "things to do" in life on my list.

Damn, replacing the entire right front suspension (including brakes etc) on an Audi in 5 minutes. That's impressive. It'd take me a day to do that. =)

Oh man they're showing a naked fat man on the interview ... That's why I say the Speed interviews suck.

Talking

I always "Tivo" it so I can skip the commercials and the boring parts, I hate those commercials. The french based team "Pescarolos" has never won and is running a 2006 /07 spec car. This year is suppose to their best chance to win. I was wondering who told them that. That last time a french team won was in 1992 and that was peugeot if im not mistaken.
