I just started tracking my 08 WRX 5sp and i am seeing 22 on the dash. This is 1 1/2 tanks commuting 100 miles a day trying to go 80 and having lots of fun around town. I used to avg 25 with my old car and seems this tank doesnt hold as much. All in all i will gas up daily for this car. From what i have read prior seems like the non wrx is better for the commute. Dont care im in love...

I don't own a 2008 Impreza so I can't tell you what MPG it gets. That being said I own a 2004 STI and I can tell you what MPG I get with my driving habits. I average around 18-19 MPG between my city/highway driving with this car. I admit I'm a bit hard on this car using the turbo boost all the time and shifting at between 4k-5k RPM. The way I look at it, if I wanted to get good gas mileage, I would have bought a Prius. That being said the STI is no longer my daily driver. My daily driver is an old Honda and it averages between 32-34 MPG city/highway with my driving habits. My STI sits still long enough nowadays, I have to add fuel stabilizer into the gas tank just to make sure the gasoline doesn't go bad.

Well I must be a candidate for the worst gas mileage here, 17.4 mpg over a 1650mi average. I drive about 40mi a day and have hit the triple digit speeds on quite a few occasions. Fuel economy goes out the window at 6am on a long strech of cold highway Plan on buying a Cobb Access Port stage 1 soon, wonder if I'll be getting 14 or 15 mpg then

That makes sense tho... The non-turbo engine just uses less gas[and only 87 oct]. I drove my old nissan spec-v like I stole it and got 20.4 mpg over 48,000mi

Don't go by your mileage right now. We are using this "winter gas". Come late March or April, you will see an increase in your mileage and think, "wow it's finally broken in". Just for reference, mine usually gets around 27-29 during summer. Right now, 23 to 25 if I'm lucky. RP

I'm wondering wtf is up with my mileage. 2008 OBS Auto at about 500 miles => just under 18mpg for city driving.

Is my AC stuck in the on position? I've heard something click on in the engine bay and the revs jump a few hundred with the AC button OFF.

I thought it would improve after my first tank of gas but it hasn't.

That's cuz you have Canadian miles, which are much smaller than our manly USA miles, so you get less. Sorry.
Dude in the OT forum told me that, and they know their stuff.

Oddly though, my mileage * 0.62 = your mileage.

If I reset my trip-o-meter, then set the cruise for 100kph, I get 28.2 MPG steady-state w/ crappy Oreygun corn/gas. If you get substantially less, may want to have it checked out.

Wow! I am amazed at the numbers that other 08 WRX's are getting! I have the same car and I'm only getting 15mpg and I'm being easy on it. And that's after reseting it because when I took delivery the car had 50 miles on it and it said 10mpg avg. What's the deal? Anyone know? I'm really interested.

2008 2.5i 4eat and I get just figured out 23 mpg for the 2300 miles I have put on it. This is a pretty good mix of highway and city, plus 1 snowboard trip up the canyon to help drag things down a bit.

Not too bad considering my 2005 civic si was only getting 26-27 with the same driving. I can live without the extra 3-4 mpg to get AWD.

I just did another long road trip and the gas mileage is finally starting to get a little better than before.I now have over 12,000kms or 7500 miles on my 2008 2.5i .
My average speed during the trip was about 120km/hr or 75mph. I got an average 8.2L/100kms or 28mpg(US). I know once the temperatures get warmer my mileage will improve.

After 1000 miles, it will change. Don't worry. Mine was like that, but now I'm getting 23-24 miles with a mix of highway and city. The highest I ever got was 27 on straight highway going 80 mph constant.
