Post

I didn't want this to get lost up above.

I recently burned out one of my PIAA low beams and replaced both H4s with Hella 80/100s. I have one used but still good PIAA 80/80 Platinum for really really cheap. If you are interested let me know. It's not doing me any good sitting in the garage.

Why did I switch to the Hella 80/100? Because they're cheap. under $13 each. I liked the white PIAAs but I'm not buying them again. Too spendy.

If you want the burned out low-beam one you can have it too for free.

Have done hardly anything terribly exciting lately. Washed, waxxed, and painted my badge (copper)...

Saving my pennies for DMS...

And Nick reminds me that I want a set of Hellas... <sigh> money money money

Lets see:
new street wheels.
whiteline adj rear sway
solid endlinks
kartboy short shifter
STi seatcovers
Oh yeah buck's grill kit...

Still to do this week:
rear spats
lip spoiler
shifter bushing

Very near future:
coupe wing
brake rotors
suspension setup

That about does it. I think I should wash it too, still covered in dirt from my "stuck in the snow" adventure.

Question What have you done to your RS lately?

Well I was going to work on the intake, but it didn't happen. Instead in installed an antenna and handsfree kit for my phone. I got it all done except for the connector crimp on the coax. I had to pay somebody to do it. Car Toys wanted $22.50, so I went to the stereo shop in Redmond ($17 total). I can't stand paying, but I didn't want to drive around with my center console ripped up all week. The passenger's seat can't go all the way forward, but who sits like that anyway? I mounted the speaker on the dash right under the cruise/fog/alarm/sub control panel. I can still get my mailbox key out of the fusebox door, and the Hella switch is no problem to get to. I didn't want to mount it in the center of the dash for fear that somebody would think I had tons of stereo stuff in the car. I'm all about stealth. The mic is mounted right next to the vent dial.

The antenna is at the top of the rear window, driver's side.

I also put my Yak rack on. The Darwin sticker was on it when I bought the rack from a Gonzaga grad. Go figure.

Be like Mike and wave if you see me.

Oh yeah.. I washed the car. I even took the wheels off and washed all of the mud-chunkies out. Nevermind the junk next to the car.

I think the next mod to my Ru will be tomorrow. There's a white YJ up in Everett that I'm going to trade my WJ in on. Time to rid myself of the monthly payment. Then I think I'll spend my money getting the YJ ready for the Rubicon and do my best to keep the Ru under warranty.

Why do dealerships frown upon short shifters when they readily accept aftermarket stereos as normal? I mean... who here has ever been hassled for a stereo mod? I know of at least one person who got crap for his Subaru short shifter. What's the deal?
