I know, I was commenting on how loosely attached the rear most subframe attachment looks.

It appears the rear suspension is similar to the 08+ models, which is good for aftermarket parts.

I have some pics if anyone is willing to host them. (Of the Imprezas, not the coupe. There was a strict no-photo policy at the couple unveil)

gary p, I am even more jealous now that these beauties were just down the street from me for your meeting. Can you tell me this, am I finally going to be able to get Satin White Pearl with dark interior? My children will destroy the tan interior.

We did not get comprehensive color+trim info. The only pearl white one I saw had tan interior. But it was tan leather with black carpets. Seemed like it would be relatively kid resistant.

Oh geez... There is still a 2-tone Outback Sport-like color choice for the Sport model. I thought (prayed!!) that was finally dead and buried. Guess not...

Just to clarify, that is not the 2012 wrx, correct?

That is the 2012 impreza, which I'd the only model to get a facelift.

The 2012 wrx's will look the the same exterior wise..... Right.

I know this must have been butchered here but I can't seem to find the right page number in this thread so I figured I can't be the only one having trouble finding this info.

Cheers

Edit: shoot I didn't tag the pics, but it's the pics right above me.

Thanks for the reply Gary and I'm stoked that I can get the big wing as an upgrade. Can you tell us if there were any noteworthy accessories on those two showcase vehicles? (or was it just the usual shift knobs and floor mats?)

There is an interesting thread with Outback CVT unable to climb 4in obstacle (curb) in reverse.
http://www.subaruoutback.org/forums/...r-problem.html

Subaru denies it is a problem but I think it is.
The reason I've mentioned it, is that new Impreza will have CVT as well so backing it up against 4in curb in reverse would be on my list to try it when testing.

That is a one-off problem. My Outback CVT can back through a couple feet of snow without issue.

Maybe the CVT is reprogrammable

Chicago!? I'm in Illinois! How come I couldn't go!!! Are the cars still here somewhere hidden, I want to find them!

That white Impreza picture is the best looking shot of the 2012 so far. It looks sexy.

I like the lip spoiler but will probably opt out of having it because it'll just get in the way of my bike rack. Too bad adds a bit of style.

Can you get those black rims on the sedan? I like those so much better than the ones shown on the Impreza, they make the Impreza tires look like bicycle wheels.

LOL! Did you watch Gunning Gold?

All season tires?

Gary, did you notice how the rear visibility is on the hatch?

I have put off replacing my car after driving the Focus Hatch, '12 Accent Hatch, Juke, GTi, and sat in a Veloster, they all had rear blind spots worse than a Chevy Avalanche or Toyota FJ (worst in the industry).

Oh no, you actually have to reach down and turn off the VDC, big deal.

I've had to do this a few times going forward as well. Didn't find it to be a big deal.

Well, if you go through the entire thread you will notice that some of them have tried turning off VDC and it didn't work. Subaru had a TSB issued about it # 16-77-09; it involved some reprogramming but there are some reports from folks that have CVT Outback 2011 and have the same problem. 2011 would have this TSB incorporated I would imagine.

All I can add is that I've tried this very scenario, backing over a curb, and was able to do so after disabling the VDC, also going through the snowbank at the end of my driveway (from a stop) I've had to disable the VDC to power through.

Worked for me at least.

I wonder how much of the improved steering response in zig-zag maneuvers is due to the reduced front weight overhang from the smaller engine?
