Default 2002 WRX u-brace rusted - failed inspection

I have a 2002 WRX with 110k miles. The car drives great, but it just failed inspection as its u-brace subframe is rusted. I know that people just used to take this off to get rid of front end weight and it doesn't seem to change the handling of the car.

Has this happened to anyone else here? If so, how did you deal with it? If you prefer, send a private message. Thanks.

My front part was rusted. Took it off and cut the front part off, rust proofed then por15 the two side parts. Then I bought a piece of thick aluminum and made a new front piece that bolts to the remaining u brace. I have an aluminum skid plate that covers it all. Doubt my guy who does inspection ever looked at it.

I was thinking of getting a Cusco H brace instead. Does anyone know if there will be fitment issues as I have a comfort Anti Lift Kit as well?
