Default 2015 WRX 6MT - Locked out of 2,4,6

This happened yesterday on the way home from work. Was cruising on the highway and needed to downshift due to heavy traffic and found out I could not shift into 2nd or 4th nor could I shift back to 6th.

1,3,5th all worked fine. No grinding noises or anything odd other than simply not being able to get the car in 2,4,6.

When I came home, I let the car sit for 10 mins then tried it again and everything is back to normal.

Everything still seems fine now. The car is stock aside from a E-30 MAPerformaqnce tune (no shifter modifications, stock clutch, etc.). 56k miles.

Anyone else have this issue? I'm thinking maybe a shifter linkage or bracket may be loose and temporarily misaligned causing the lockout?

Cool

OK, so 2015 WRX 6MT, stock.
How many miles? (Never mind, reread, 56K miles......).

Crap that fell into the shift boot?
Accident?
Any other work done recently?
Stock shifter (yes, you said stock, but asking).

Edit, OK, I have no clue, but your answers may help others......

Check the clip on the side of the trans that holds the cable.

The clip seemed normal, nothing looked out of place. The car has not done this since. So weird....

It's one of the cables on the shifter! Had this off and on, it can slip out.. I used a tie down to keep it snug, pain to do but worked for the month I needed before my Sti swap.. so no more cables on mine, yet this did happen to me in the past..
