OK, here's the deal. I am going to arrange the travel logistics for Dom, airfare, lodging, etc... Dom will fly into Chicago Thursday evening 11/15/12 and we can have him tune through Sunday if needed. Dewey has the dyno reserved, thank you Dewey! We have to guarantee Dom $1000/ day plus travel costs. We will reconcile each individual tune cost based on time spent on the dyno. Dewey's going to have a tech assigned to solve any problems that might arise on the dyno at NC. So we may have to buy beers and food for them What I need from anyone that wants a Dom Tune that weekend is a $300 deposit. PM me for my Paypal address. I need the deposits by end of the day this Friday. The transaction needs done as a gift as no one is making a profit on this, save Dom. Cool? Lets get busy! Ciao

What are travel costs? If I buy in and it's just the 3 of us, kinda need to know what I'm agreeing to.

Sweet. Travel costs are to get Dominic from Washington state to Chicago and lodging. Dewey had a lead on 5-6 so hopefully 2-3 were serious.

As Allan mentioned, time spent will be the cost factor. I think mine will take the longest.

Sent my $300 Allan! Nice meeting you today!

Dewey can you chime in here as you priced out the flights and hotel. I've not had a chance yet. Pretty sure Dewey said Around $500 but more days = more hotel $$.

We got our prices from Orbitz. We tried to put him in something decent (3 stars or more) so he wasn't being carried away by roaches or fighting a hooker for the shower.

Zip code is 60193.

Correct me here:
Assuming 5 people, and 2 hours per person, dyno time @ 125/hr = $1250
If we guess travel at $750
5 people can be knocked out in 1 working day + 1 travel day = $2000

We're talking $800/person

If I've got that right, I'd be in if we say we'll do it as long as we get at least 5 people.

Let me know if I'm crazy here.

I don't think you're crazy, but I think 2hrs for a tune is a bit light. Stage two maybe, mine will prolly take longer. Maybe not though. For the quality of knowledge I'm willing to pay a bit more.

Plus ... Throwing Dom a bone to spread the MPS gospel is a good thing

Well, every time I've dealt with tuning or saw tuning coordination before, it's always been scheduled in 2 hour blocks. Seems to be pretty standard.

Mine is just a stage 2 tune, which is why I'm not really down to commit to 1k.

I don't blame you. I guess tuning is a faster process than I thought, but I just thought strapping down the car and crap would burn up 25-35 min at least.

Hey guys. Sorry I cant drop the cash right now. Between getting hit by the car, med bills, and now it looks as though I need surgery on my knee. I cant justify putting money into my car right now. Hope everything works out for you guys, maybe Ill shoot down and check out the dyno session.

Hey, I want to get this out there with all the questions, I'm getting. We also need to make Dom's travel arrangements very soon to get the best rates. So here is the best guess of where we're at.

Our costs will be:
Dom@ $1000 / day plus travel
Travel costs@ $700
Dyno@ $90/ hr. (confirmed)
Est. Total= $4500 based on 2 days tunes at 20 hours total time

So a quick calculation figuring 2 days at 10 hrs./ day = 20 hrs. Divide our total cost by the 20 hours gives me around $225/ hr. on the dyno with Dom. So it all depends on the type of tune you will be getting.. Layvon's tune will be the most complicated with a stand alone ECU/ rotated large injectors and it could take 5 hrs. My tune is stock location, stock ECU, MAF/ SD hybrid tune and large injectors, if everything is good it may take 3 hrs. but it could also be done in 2 with no hitches.

We have to guarantee Dom the 1k per day and travel costs. If you send me a deposit and this falls apart I will send you the deposit back but this is where we are right now and we will need to book Dom's ticket very soon. I am going to take care of these things, Dewey's got the dyno and has commited to have a tech on stand by time N/C (which is awesome), so we have to commit and get things sorted out. I'm not nor is anyone else besides Dom making any profit off this. Even Dom is not killing it but he can't loose money doing it. If someone has a problem we have down time and Dom is then idle so that's his and our risk.

I will plug this all into a spread sheet and post up for everyone, so clear visibility!

I've got a MPS long rod 2.5 block in my car and I want Dom to tune it, so that's my stake in this, that and it will be fun to hang out with he and the 6star guys! So come on and let's do this with Dom and give him some fun cars to tune Midwest style.
