EvoIII 16G vs 18G drag times
If you have one of these turbo's, please post you drag times, 1/8 mile, 1/4mile, 60' times, and trap mph (and what motor who have, and PSI)
We have all seen tons of WHP threads/arguments, but I am more interested in which will get you down the road faster, not a pi$$ing contest of who put down more WHP on a dyno. Im hoping that this thread will be usefull to all of us (2.0L's) that cant decide between an EVOIII 16G or 18G So, try not to turn this into something its not, just post drag times/info. Thanks If this has been done already, sorry, point me in the direction of the thread, my searching didnt find this sort of direct comparison.

Well if your goal is the better 1/4 mile time I'd say the 18g

Eh, No grinding yet... And the stock clutch is still alive. After the Midwest shootout we will see. I plan on getting a header and getting a c16 tune to break 11's |

fastest evo 3 16g car with all the supporting mods tuned by junior on pump that i saw was 12.5@108 with a 1.70 60 ft, mean driving
an evo 3 car puts down well tuned vf22/30 et and traps 18g goes the distance with 111+, 18s have seen up to 117-122 on race gas on stock 2.0L, evo 3's have not. |

was that on a 2.0liter blacksnake? Man I need to get a ride in an 18G equipped 2.0liter WRX, I know its nasty on a highway. And Ive been thinking the 18G>EVO 3 16G just barely though.

With a Deadbolt TD05H-18G and TXS TMIC, my best ET was a crappy 12.9, but I trapped 110.9 at 21.5 psi with 93.

i dont think enough evo 3 16g's have gone down the 1/4mile in comparison to 18g's to make a good argument for the evo 3 16g (in subarus anyway)

Subscribed! I'm interested too. I just put my FP TD05h-18g in this weekend and I'm running a base map from PDX Tuning. I'll post my times after I get it tuned on the 26th of August (they are backed-up big time right now). Keep posting! Great thread!

When I had the stock 2.0/stock tranny, ran [email protected] on TD05-18G.
Temps were average (70-something) and humid. I did mix 2 gallons of toluene with approx 8 gallons of 94 oct, but didn't get a chance to tune for it, so it was kind of a waste anyways (ie ran on my own 93 octane UTEC map). Last edited by TyranosaurusWRX; 08-01-2006 at 11:36 AM. |

I have not run my car at the track yet but with the 6mt it feels much faster than my old 5mt because I can flat foot shift ect. I have been pulling cars on rolls like modded ls1 trans am's, evo's, built tjz turbo is300, and modded 300zx's really bad. All the cars trap 115mph+ and I have no problem pulling them.
