So I ended up getting green ASA wheels for my winter set-up.
Couldn't pass up the deal since the winter tires were almost new. :-)

So if you see a Blue sti w/ Green wheels in the winter, thats me lol

Very happy today! I just got my STi back with a clean bill of health from Subaru. Turns out I had a leaky turbo coolant inlet hose and a neutral switch that needed repair.

So if you see a black STi with black wheels around Greenfield / New Berlin it's me!

/drunk post on

So I went from a 2003 Mustang GT to a 2004 WRX STi. This car makes me feel like Superman! (No I don't drink and drive - never)

I have this on-ramp to I43 that I take every day (Moorland south to I43 North) going home from work and just love how I can so very comfortably go about TWICE the speed everyone else goes. The on-ramp is a good 270 degree / two lane on ramp that just makes me smile from ear to ear

It's not that I'm driving all out or anything. It's that I see these other cars braking for the entry while I'm all like "more throttle!". Right now I couldn't be happier with my new 'to me' ride. It's not without it's flaws but my god! 2004 STi was made for me I think

Wishing it was spring with a bunch of auto-X events upcoming! At the same time I can't wait for snow driving - I used to be all scared with the Stang. I think now I'll be thinking "Snow? Sweet! This will be fun!" haha

/Happy happy STi owner!

Speck863, you are just like me. I am a new STi owner and the way these cars handle is something else. I was at Road America 2 weeks ago and couldn't be happier with the way a stock car handled!
If you want to get your need for speed out, I do since I got a BIG ticket, I am going to try some ice racing this year. Should be a lot of fun!

Ouch that sucks about the "big ticket"! I need to satisfy my need for speed for sure but wont be doing it on the streets. Ice racing?!?! Sounds awesome and I want to be a part of it! Details please! Do you need studded tires for it?

Running laps at Road America has been a dream of mine for a long time. How does one get into it? I got the car. Now I just need a helmet I would guess. Maybe a five point harness too? Totally unsure of what I need to do but what I want to do is take my STi on Road America and race the clock.

Cheers!

Yup! Most track days will hook you up with an instructor familiar with the course which is nice too. They can give you few tricks for a good line and some braking points.
Ice racing, I can post details as I know them. You don't need studded tires to do it, but will need a helmet.
Ya, I am definietly doing the speed limit now. I was getting on the on ramp at a quick speed. Couldn't help the cool weather and the turbo loving it.

I can't wait for the RA track day! Do you need to be a member of a car club or anything or is it just show up with $250 and a helmet? I know the track very well from iRacing so should be able to get up to speed quickly.

Will keep an eye on this thread for updates. The ice racing sounds pretty awesome too!

Yes the blues in blue stopped me and then less than 12 hours later I got pulled over by a trooper for no front plate and tint. And this weekend was followed to a gas station, watched, he shook his head at me, and followed me for 5 miles. I am only doing 3-4 mph over the speed limit so I know I wasn't doing anything wrong.

For the open track days you don't need to be a member to any groups. Normally you will have to pre-register online and make sure your car is in good condition to be getting thrown around on the track. I will for sure being going to one that gttrackdays.com holds since last year my Civic broke less than 2 weeks before the event and it was non-refundable, so I have a free track day coming. I know F body days usually has an event in April, but can be pretty chilly around that time still.

WTH ??

I never had front plates with any of my previous cars but IMHO it seems like subarus look better w/ the front plates.

They are seem to be out way more all of a sudden and are angry at the world. I may be in a little trouble because I am dating a local cop and am going to be cutting ties today with him. Since I am really close to losing my license I have a feeling I am going to be targeted and busted for nothing. And I will most likely be losing my license for 10 days since my ticket was more than 25 over and was planning on using my parents normal vehicles to get around when needed. He knows those vehicles and I have a feeling will be telling other people to watch for me. Its my fault for getting the tickets and speeding, but now I am worried about what is going to happen.

if they target you like that you can easily fight the cases. that's 100% illegal.

Why would this guy want revenge so bad? As for the points thing, there is a class that you can take and they will give you 3 points back on your license.

It's going to be hard to prove that they were targeting a single person though.

You can do that in Wisconsin too? I thought this was the case in Illinois but not WI.

Last year I was driving my black sti around Water St. and I was pulled over for no apparent reason.
Cop told me he stopped me cuz my car seemed illegally modified and advised me not to drive around Water St. with this car since him and the other cops will pull me over every time they see me.

Idk... I can just see him being bitter about the whole thing.
In WI the class gives you 2 points back. I am going to wait until I see what I get the tickets lowered down too and go from there.
