Does the NA Block Have the Same Oil Gallery Plugs as the Turbo Block?
As the title says, and if so, do they use the same thread and pitch as the turbo plugs?
How many of them are there that aren't in use already? Last edited by williaty; 05-20-2009 at 03:27 PM. Reason: Grammar pwnz me. |

on the turbo motor, there's one on the back passenger side next to the turbo, and another one underneath the alternator.

Right, and all the info I've been able to find is for the turbo motor. I'm wondering if the NA motor has the same plugs, in the same place, with the same diameter and thread pitch.

well, you could always look at yours The one underneath the alternator should be there too since that's where the factory oil pressure sensor is.

Yeah, I found the one under the alt when I re-sealed the oil pump over the weekend (which still leaks, dammit!).

The turbo ones are M18x1.5 I guess I'll be the guinea pig to find out if the NA ones are the same.

cool. I'll bet they are. You asking so you can get a sending unit adapter or are you just replacing them?

Putting gauges in. I'd like to know how high the oil pressure is getting since I can't stop the pump from leaking.

I have never taken the plugs off, but I would be pretty darn sure they are the same. It doesnt make sense that Subaru would use 2 different sized plugs just because one block is semi-closed vs. open deck.
I will assume you have tried a new crank seal.... What kind of sealant are you using? ~Josh~ |
