First off, your setup is not unicorn-like unique. A large stock location, stock block, 93 octane setup has been done, time and again, and we know what those power outputs should look like in a graph/chart form. NOTE, I as well as a few others did not mention peak numbers; they frankly don't speak as much as does your respective shapes. Your power is off; how and why, I'm not sure. It just looks like torque comes in late, as does boost. Informing you of that sure seems hateful, and I'm sure the car feels great, to you and all your friends that haven't been in something that strong before. There is a lot of usefulness in getting seasoned opinions and eyes on your stuff as well. As someone who benefited from that 'hate', I pass it on to you and ask that you at least check into things. |

^i understand the advice given, and knowledge in here.. just more tactful ways about giving it..
also, i am not using this turbo to its potential yet. and yeah, my set up has be done many times before, as have others. you have to admit though, 90% of nasioc just gets on peoples ass about whatever they can nit pick because it isn't a $50,000 setup and they have seen better. there are some amazing rare things on this forum, i am not one of them. This is a work in progress so it would be nice if people would work with me too.. but they wont. I'm sure on a built block with cams and high 20lb psi levels people will be more on the "nice setup" side of things. the tuner isnt familiar with subaru, but it is what i have out here. Once im out of the military and back home in NY ill probably have the car dropped off at AMR to revamp the whole setup and do what they do best. In the mean time ill enjoy the 407/367, it is still fun any way you slice it. |

Not trying to nitpick anything that isn't worth highlighting. None of it is a personal attack, only an attempt at saving your setup from the little information you've given us. It's potentially fine; logs are the only real teller of that though.
And thank you for your service to the country! |

OP, I mean no disrespect, but there are certainly better options for a turbo than the T60r. Quite frankly, I haven't been impressed by any dyno plots I have seen of this turbo to date. It's a lopsided turbo, it isn't going to perform as well as it should on paper. I wish you the best of luck in your build, hopefully you can prove me wrong and make insane power with it one day.

The T60R basically takes over where the FP Red left off. The FP Red was a big, laggy turbo, and the T60R is no different. As long as you have the proper supporting mods, it can be a fun setup with a bias toward top-end.
I'm making 342 whp @ 19 psi with my 4EAT, T60R, and giant FMIC. Yes, it's laggy, and throttle response could be better, but it pulls like a m'fer on the highway and while running through the gears in full boost. |

However, time and time I see the blouch turbo way out perform the AMR equal. Actually the DOM3 XTR is always beating the T60r, and it spools much quicker since the DOM3 only has a 52lb/min wheel .. I guess all im saying is what holds the AMR turbo back from flowing like the Blouch turbos of the same size. I need to see the T60r with SLR wheel and 10.5cm hotside with 3" inlet on a dyno to truly compare which ~60lb/min stock location turbo is best. All are around the same price, $1800 (the base T60r with 8cm and reg comp wheel does win the price battle at under $1400) I would like a serious test to be conducted with the different large stock location turbos on the same dyno in the same car so the supporting mods are equal. We need to know which is the best flowing, highest performing stock location, because you dont always have to go rotated to make good power. BTW OP something is not right is a 8cm turbo is at 300 wtq at 4500 rpm... VF series turbos have that bested by a long shot... |

^^^That's still an apples to oranges comparison. The DOM-series turbos also have a ball bearing CHRA, whereas the T60R has a journal bearing design, so of course there's a difference in spool.
Aside from the size of the compressor wheels (60 vs 65), the FP Red is still the closest comparison. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2143123 http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2021200 Please note John's comparison between the FP Red and the T60R http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2230113 For a budget-minded build, the T60R is tough to beat. I got mine brand new for less than $1,300. |

I agree with everyone here that the VF series can outperform where my TQ currently is.
However, I do not have the supporting mods yet to really get into this turbo. The tunes arent set to beat the hell out of the motor, its set for some good pulls on the highway. It wont be for a while (because im doing wheels, tires, brakes, and suspension) in feb/march, however, once I am out of the military and get back up to NY I'll revamp the setup. $$$ is always an issue, but I was wounded in afghanistan and just waiting for that money to get in, me to get out and then I will probably take this up to Rob at AMR. Tell them to put in some cams, a built shortblock, and then have them tune it. It's their turbo, they should know best. By then... again, down the road, I should have some more crowd pleasing numbers in here. In the mean time, i'll enjoy my highway pulls and overall fun car. I'm sure people here have been in monsters of cars with crazy HP, and im sure setups in here can **** on me all day. Still willing to bet with the cut-out and power that i do have you'd still have a good time. Thanks again for what support is here and what constructive criticisms' there are. Trust me, i take what i can away from here, just not made of money. |

I give you alot of credit on being smart enough to hold back on the conservative side until your engine has and the mods to support the performance. Many people dont make the smart decision to hold off from the block shattering power levels and pay the price for it. Im sure your car is a blast to drive and will only get much better when you get your setup to where it needs to be. The T60r is a nice turbo and for the price it sure it hard to beat. Also AMR does offer upgrade options for that turbo so if you want more out of it, you can buy a SLR wheel or 10.5cm exhaust housing. |

^^^Eh, I wouldn't worry about the nay-sayers. It's been proven to be a decent turbo and a suitable replacement for the FP Red. Some people don't understand that not everyone can dump $10k into their cars all at once to build the motor, in addition to the turbo upgrade. The butter-zone for these turbos is 22-26 psi, and we're both ~19-20 psi due to a stock bottom end. So, build the motor, turn up the boost, and I'm sure people's opinions will change.
Personally, with larger turbos I think stock trannies will have better longevity (compared to the VFxx turbos) at these power levels due to the smooth power delivery; there isn't a giant torque spike at 3500 rpms. Also remember that a lot of people dislike AMR's shop, and some of that negativity gets transferred to their parts. |

^nasioc can be a host of a lot of talking **** in many many threads, so i guess people just assume it carries throughout. I know most people in here arent trying to bust my balls and then some just have their 2 cents to give which gets me nowhere, so it is what it is.
I am quite excited to go home to NY and then get in touch with Rob, I know he is on here as "AMR" but i have dealt with them before. (Put in a dogbox on my 04 wrx) In any event, I try to stay as excited as i can and have the money for it. But military pay is meh and add in a distance relationship and you get no spending money. However, I have just saved up for some 18x9.5 wheels + tires and some SS brake lines and pads. Can't do coilovers yet, but i am putting it on springs for now. So thats what is next |

In the same boat as the OP, about to put this T60R on a stock motor.
FWIW, AMR designed this turbo for streetable high-end. From reading through nasioc and iwsti it really seems to wake the F up at 24psi. 21psi seems to float around that 400 mark, +/- 25whp for varying conditions. That's about where I'll keep mine til I have rod/piston shortblock in hand. But OP's setup should be spooling up faster, should hit 21psi before 4k rpm. How about an update |

The best I have seen is 20psi by 4200 RPM on journal bearing 60 trim turbos. T60 is about the same as the FP Red
