I'm not going more than stage 2 so it would just be a preventative measure. I shedding that the BP kit was made to fit very very snug and I'm sure that it would be a pain to get the sizing down to where it would fit that snug if you tried to make them yourself. I'll just buy it from them. Luckily with Californias crappy 91 fuel and my invidia Catted dp I'm only hitting around 17psi on normal wastegate map anyways.

Quick question I pulled my car in the garage tonight and it smelled hot ( sounds funny but that's the best way I can describe) the car has 10,000 miles AP stage 1. I checked the temp gauge, coolant and oil and everything looks good. It almost smelled like it did during break in. I was not driving hard or anything only about 15 miles half freeway half in town and it was about 75 degrees out. Anyone else ever experience this?

After the garage door is closed? Electronic smell? That's your clutch, otherwise probably normal. What's different about the smell compared to your last car when you pulled it into the garage?

I've only used rotella t6 (the one in the blue jug) since I got my car. I used it for a couple of years on my 2.5i before I traded it in too. I've seen Blackstone analysis on it with no problems

My tuner assumed my car had stage1 when he saw the power it was putting down... Was completely stock using rotella t6 and 92octane put 243whp and 245wtq, it was 50 degrees with a slight drizzle that day.

A local friend won't touch T6 because every time he pulls a customers engine apart and they use T6, its got gunk buildup. I've just used subaru synth so far, gonna give mobil 1 a try and see if the reported blowby happens.

If you said that in uncle scotty's section he would be hurling insults by now lol. Thicker oil causing more gunk makes sense though I guess. Idk I've been using royal purple but I've heard some really bad stuff about it so I want to switch but I don't like the idea of not using the recommended weight in case of some warranty issue..also it probably hurts mpg. I was thinking about German castrol 0w30 but that's not really the correct weight either. People bitch about Mobil 1 but a lot of serious cars come filled with it. I used it in my rsx and Celica and they both burned about a quart per 1000 miles but I beat on them a lot so idk

I used Castrol 5W30 and felt my car didn't run as smooth as it did with Rotella T6 so I switched back to it. I'm read some iffy things about Mobile1 and how the 5W30 can sheer its weight... I wouldn't put that in a turbo Subaru. I'm sure it was fine to put it in an n/a engine such as an RSX or Celica.
Guess I'm just hopping on the Rotella T6 bandwagon but I swear my car runs better when I use it.

Uncle Scotty talks alot online, but the one time I saw him in person he showed up, saw the group, then instantly turned around and left. He later got online and complained about how none of us waved or said hi to him. Most of us had never met him and didn't even know it was him until after he left and the one guy who had met him pointed out that he saw him lol

Most of the bad I've heard about RP is just that its stupid overpriced for not being any better than anything else. I dunno though, every single oil has people who love it and others who hate it. Find what works for you and stick with it imo

Not sure about Motul but I've heard that most people regard Amsoil as probably one of the best oils to use.

I agree with amsoil as being great. I've had a lot of luck with the motul oils. At 25k miles I'll do a oil analysis

Please post your results about the motul oil. I'm trying to switch it up from Rotella T6 but not one around here carry Amsoil.

I am experiencing a "peeling" on my SPT carbon fiber piece. Anyone have the same problem? Any suggestions on a fix?

+1, I'm using rotella as well but I want to make sure it's holding up to the task. Would like to hear results as well.
