Post Anyone from here pick up their WRX from Evanston on Sat?

They were prepping three of them for delivery on Saturday, creating a backlog that has mine pushed back to Monday, which is fine. But I sat in it! I sat in MY car!

The final Evanston tally?

Three silver and one black wagon, two silver, and two blue sedans. Unreal. All sold. I quipped to Dan that it must be nice to have a car that sells itself.

I also hear that all the WRXes are going to be gone by August, and that SOA is wrestling with building more, or riding the hype wave of a car so hot, it sells out.

SOA never did make any truely sound decisions.

Maybe ow they will be smart and bring over the EJ20 turbo for the Legacy and Forester lines as well now.

Kevin,

I was one of the WRX's prepped ahead of you at Evanston Subaru. I dealt mainly with Matt who called me on Friday and I told him I'd be in to pick up the car on Saturday. Mine is one of the silver wagons. Took her out for a short time on LSD. Came home read the manual. Taking her out for a longer ride tomorrow. I'm just excited to finally have the car.

you guys have to stop posting about all the available wrxs at the dealerships. it gets so tempting to trade in my RS for a wagon.

Well, those WRXes aren't technically "available." Every one at Evanston had a "SOLD" sign hanging onnit.

On Saturday they had 2 unsold WRX's on the lot...a yellow automatic and the black 5-speed wagon. I drove the wagon around 2pm, so perhaps it was purchased later that day.

Congrats on the new silver wagon! I saw both silver wagons back in the service area getting prepped--one up close with the optional plastic rear bumper protector.

The sales manager also told that the WRX's would be sold out by August/September, and most likely no more would be available until a year later (when the 2003 models came out in the Fall 2002). But I can't believe Subaru would give up all their hype and momentum and leave their dealers high and dry for an entire year...say it isn't so!

Sure did, dada. There was a couple right beside me as I was going through my new vehicle tutorial, getting the same treatment with their silver sedan.

I suspect that the yellow one will go for a good price later, but rumor is there were only 250 of the yellow cars produced for 02.

The yellow sedan is currently not for sale, it is the democar used by the owner (Bill). I was fortunate enough to test drive it, very nice indeed, got a chance to take it up to speed on Sheridan (on the curve in front of the cemetary) this car has all the options including leather seats...

The black wagon is a 5spd with Popular Options package II (keyless and something else) but also has the nicer stereo w/subwoofer.
