I have a Subaru Sold Order confirmation printout from yesterday afternoon that says otherwise... it's included on the order clear as day. Though I understand it's not hard to install it yourself later on if it comes to that.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could do something with it.

My dealer's great and all, but I'm the type of guy that would log in and check status 8x a day given the opportunity. Seriously who wouldn't, we want our toys NOW and constant updates make it come faster and stuff

To all who are considering the 2014. I am not saying it won't be a great car but remember they are talking about this new electric turbo for those models. I am not saying it will be bad BUT it will be brand new technology. It may be better than ever but new tech always has the potential to be problematic. It has been in development for a few years so it may be fine. That being said I am getting a 2013 cuz I know what it will look like and it has proven tech. And by proven I mean tested in a day to day real world environment. Consider your options with your hard earned money!!

Since the 2013 will be the last year to have the current engine and drive train it is the pinnacle of the ej series.

I was 100% able to add that item to all of the orders I put in as well.

If the 2014 is a mega hit and folks all want the new WRX setup, then yours is out dated and you might take a bigger hit. The opposite, if people hate the new platform, the 2013 model could be well sought after.

My point, your guess will be just about as accurate as anybody elses.

Oh yeah, a car is not an investment. If you think about it like that, you will be disappointed. It is an asset which depreciates, invest in your house, the market, your education, you buy a car.
Hmmm I see...I'm just really regretting paying the extra money for the STi. It just seems empty compared to other cars out there. The bang for your buck comes in at a performance cost. I'd like to have a nice sound system like the Bose I had in my cadillac. The fact that everything is a la carte makes me cringe.

I'm kinda regretting getting even a WRX if worst comes to worst.

Will I enjoy myself you think? I'm not trying to sound superficial but the alcantara seats is really what made me want an STi, besides it's big brembo pack, suspension, DCCD, bigger turbo (?), and 6 speed trans.

I'm second guessing again... I've been car shopping since january lol...

first world problems here lol

I can certainly tell the difference. It's the STI I can't tell enough to pay the price for one.

No question that they need another plant if they want to reach these lofty sales goals over the next 2-3 years. I just don't see there being this kind of issue with Impreza/WRX/STi if the Tsunami never happens. That was almost a total of 6 months of no production.
They had only stopped production for a little over a month. We don't get many Impreza's either, but we have already doubled our last full year's number, so they are getting them out. Just not enough for demand. That is why I don't think the tsunami did anything but delay.

If we told you, we'd have to kill you. We(my dealership) can't see any rhyme or reason to when/why/how they update and move vehicles in their distribution. We had a 2011 Forester in the "released" phase for nearly 2 months and then it showed up on the SAME truck as a full load of 2012s. There's just no telling with the Imprezas and Foresters. Now, the Outbacks, Legacys, and Tribecas are a little easier to track. If you order something today and it gives you an ETA of, say, October, don't even think about it till the last week of September.

I am kinda the same way when it starts getting "close" to the ETA and then when it has a VIN. Otherwise it is just a passing thing if I happen to be in Subarunet.

That's what they said about the Lineartronic CVT and that is a bit more critical of a part. Subaru has a rep for reliability. If they are going that route, it will probably be for ALL their turbos at some point. If it's true, they have probably been testing that for the better part of a decade. MY experience with Subaru? I will trust the tech.

I have wondered how long they had worked on the development of the Lineartronic CVT. Also for Eyesight. I have an idea about Eyesight since they had it on the 2005 Alpha Exiga Concept vehicle. That just gives me a basic idea on how long they will work on something to make it reliable before putting it in a production vehicle.

Just get the STI. I sold my '05 back at the end of '07 and have missed it ever since. I traded it on a BMW 335XI which was a big mistake. That car was just plain boring, comfortable, but boring. Then I got a Porsche 996 TT which I absolutely love and will hopefully have forever. That said, I still miss my STI, and will be getting a 2013 STI for winter duty and kid hauling. I'm very excited to get back into an STI - still haven't told the wife!

Sorry broham, not looking to argue but they certainly were not back to full production after a month. A month after the Tsunami there were still rolling power outages, and many of the suppliers of vital components still are not back to full operation from damages.

Well, sorry.....broham......your statement was NO production. Not limited production; but I am seeing the light and agree a little more with you. I think they are doing wrong now though. We have 55 Foresters in our pipeline and 12 Impreza's. Stop making Foresters and make more Imprezas!!!!!!!!!!! If they reversed those numbers, we'd still sell out of Imprezas before Foresters.

You are right my wording was incorrect. (I didn't mean "broham" in a smart ass way either, I just call people that )

From the higher ups I have talked to they are well aware that they need another facility. There is no way they would stop making Foresters or swap the amounts with the Impreza though. They do very well with the Forester line. They just need another factory.

I sell 20+ IMprezas a month, I just cannot get one for stock. We sell off our pipeline as soon as the next allocation is released. The good news is we can actually make a profit on them

Anyone have the sheet with invoice/MSRP pricing for the 13's that they can send to me privately? I saved it, but then deleted it because I figured it was available here. Doh.

Yeah I feel pretty confident that the car will hold it's value pretty well... That's one of the reasons I'm spending a 7 thousand dollars over my budget.

Anyone else feel this way?

Yeah, we have been for the past couple years. When they did that big ole re-arranging to the current region/zone/district setup, we pretty much got screwed. We are in TN and they swapped our port from Baltimore to Vancouver. WTF? THEN, they just recently swapped us back and we were in hiatus for about 6 months with our cars taking forever to get to us. Lost a couple dozen deals over that crap. It's getting better though. Still not getting Imprezas like another dealer in our current district though. We outsold them in Imprezas AND WRX/STIs last year. They are over twice the Impreza sales now.

And now with this new sold order/allocation thing, that will hurt us a little.

I see now. You sell more Foresters than Outbacks. We sell Outbacks 2 to 1 over the Forester. That is why 55 Foresters is a bit much and we'd like to have Imprezas instead.

I just meant nationally.

We are almost dead heat between OB/For 162/158 right now.

It's stupid to me because they were the ones pushing sold orders. They have changed so much for us, we can't hardly get bonuses anymore. Our AOR got soo huge, it's ridiculous. I don't think they fully understand our demographic. Anyway. I'm off topic and ranting. I'll quit. Sorry folks.
