The 316mm rotors are 30mm vs 24mm - so the caliper had to be re-tooled or spaced ala Wilwood (doubt that though)
I would also wonder how well it clears the rotor radius And - it's a smallish narrow annulus pad compared to most BBK type offerings and the LGT pad.

I've come to the conclusion that while the S-GT (WRX ) may get bigger brakes- they aren't opposed piston calipers

RST-H210G STi Front Gravel Brake Kit by AP Racing ('06 Homologation) $4,595.00 Which I found in this very cool file which I hope gets updated for more 08 parts soon: http://www.rallispec.com/STi%20Catalog%2007.pdf Edit: Apparently the caliper in this kit is almost the same or identical to a standard AP caliper from their racing catalog. Having almost owned a set of one of their race-only calipers, all I can say is, they are the shiz. Frank Last edited by Frank A; 09-24-2008 at 01:08 AM. |

this thread saved me from posting another useless noob thread on brake compatibility.
i was going to ask whether or not the rear calipers for my 06 2.5i are the same for the 02-05 wrxs, so i can install the H6 Rear Rotor and Bracket upgrade for brakes. thanks again nasioc! |

Good info, maybe it would be more useful and conclusive for one to know which caliper is the same by taking the markings on the caliper?
Here is what my front right 2-pot caliper from JDM Version 1 WRX says: Quote:
I've heard the "2308R" is the "casting number". Thanks for any help. I'm trying to find if another caliper is the same as mine so I can be sure which North American rebuild kit will fit. |

I have a 2001 Legacy GT caliper that has the following markings in the caliper body(not the caliper bracket.)
T (boomerang looking swoosh on a negative circle) 7 AD43T 4317 3 Inverted triangles in an inverted triangle pattern followed by 226 Oh and there are 2 flattened portions of the casting for the bleeder screws marked L an R. If its the right caliper it has a bleeder screw at R etc. It would appear the bleeder screws are tapped after the casting is made. In the US market the front 2pot caliper bodies were effectively interchangeable from about 1997 to 2002. What year JDM Impreza was the 2pot sourced from? HTH ss |

Hi subysouth
Car is 1993 Version 1 WRX This weekend I'll know if 2.5 RS calipers can be used as replacements and also if my stock bracket or RS caliper brackets make 2002 GDA WRX front calipers fit. |

I think that may well be a no but let us know. I think the set you are using may be from the earlier Subaru brake castings like those used on the early 1990s US Legacy Turbos. But please let us know.

I'm swapping my wrx brakes to 2007 legacy GT brakes, If I'm reading this correctly the rear calipers and rotors will fit, But the brake lines need modification. Does that mean that I need to run wrx rear lines or LGT? yes i know the stockers wont fit over the brakes
This is a great wright up Thanks |

I have 05 usdm wrx front brake calipers w/ mount brackets and brake houses. I want to use them on my 06 2.0R which, I think, uses same front brakes with 06 2.5i. I also bought suitable pads.
My question is are these calipers use the same rotors with 4-pots (red ones)? What I understand from this thread, It is not possible cause 4-pots use 4000 and 2-pots 4650. Am I right? I hope I am not because in turkey only the 4/2 brake system (red ones with white subaru logo on) is available and I am sure that I am not gonna be able to find the appropriate rotors if they are different. |

Kerem, yes the rotors are the same - they are 294x24mm with a 5x100 bolt pattern.
I think the numbers you are using are DBA part numbers and thats the source of the confusion. 4000 is series(there is a 5000 series as well) of brake discs that DBA produces with upgraded features. The specific 4000 series front rotor for that application is the 4650. The "standard" DBA rotor is the 650. So the 4650 and 650 are identical in size but differ in performance features. So in DBA rotors, you have the 650, 4650, and 5650 as options, all virtually the same size and all will fit your application. ss |

Just an FYI, the 2008+ WRX front rotors are the same width/etc. as the 02-07 Rotors, HOWEVER the thickness of the "vent" on the sides of the rotors has changed dramatically.
The rotors are indeed a new part number as well. I'm curious if this change was to prevent warping... |
