Go to a local gunshow. Or list it on AR15.com and agree to meet up face-to-face.

You will need to transfer it to a FFL (dealer) if you are selling it to someone out of state. Otherwise, just sell it in person and make sure they have valid TX identification.

Edit: page ownage.

If you want to do it the easy way, PM me the info on the gun. Rounds fired down it, any extras, manufacture date, etc. I'm an FFL and am always looking for things to buy and resell.

On a different note, I should add that the Desert Eagle 50AE I bought will be here tomorrow. Should have been here today, but UPS decided to show up three hours before they normally do and I was at the range test firing a couple of builds, so I missed them.

I hate UPS.

No, I mean the Tac Ops. List from Sig is $1250, but highest I've found anywhere is $1100 and the majority of the prices are in the $950-1050 range for NIB ones. Here's one in the upper part of that range. Here's a good example of a gently used 40S&W version at around what they're going for.

It's a great gun, for sure. But the market is kind of saturated with Sigs right now, mostly due to LEO trade-ins, so prices are down. Hell, I found a Sig P229 357 the other day new for $750, and those used to be impossible to find at any price.

Just letting you know how the market is leaning now.

The Desert Eagle 50AE came in today. Covered with rust spots since it was stored in the top of a closet for five years without anybody even looking at it. I broke it down completely and spent three hours cleaning all the rust off it and wiping it down with a rust inhibitor.

There are some small spots where the finish is missing from the rust, but I got it all out before it pitted, so it's minor. Hogue grips and two more mags are on the way. The grips will be extremely helpful, because even though I have large hands, they still can't get a solid handle on the grip because of the slippery plastic on the stock ones.

No prob man. I'm sure you'll sell it without any issue. I just don't want you to be surprised or pissed if people offer you less than you're wanting.

As we near closer to the election, there's a good chance you'll see the price go up. It's happened every major election cycle, so I don't see why it won't now. Also, people's wallets will get looser as we get closer to Christmas.

I finally did up my Form 4 paperwork with the local Class 2 FFL and got the brake mounted. Looking at my rifle with a can on the end of it was like something out of a video game. It's going to be a long 6 months

Planning on hitting the range this weekend to get data with the brake and do the stability tests on my .308 subs. Weather is supposed to be fantastic so if anyone else wants to make the trek out to Leonard when they open at 9am let me know.

So.... if I can't find that rifle I wanted in .308, which is better, .270 or 30-06... Those 2 calibers and 300 mag seem to be the most available. The .308 in the 4x4 seems hard to come by.

Those are two rounds used for pretty specific purposes. In my opinion, 30-06 is the perfect deer hunting round. Has power to drop larger game and remains incredibly flat over distance.

270 is an excellent hunting round, but not for anything over a good sized hog. You can take down a deer with it, for sure, but it isn't nearly as good as a 30-06 for that. It's more for smaller mule deer, medium sized hogs, and larger varmints like wolves, which we don't have a problem with.

If you're just pushing paper or target shooting, 270 is going to cost less because of cheaper ammo. 30-06 will take you longer distances, but it's going to cost more and you won't be shooting it as much because of the increased power, i.e. increased shoulder pain.

300WM will eat your shoulder alive unless you have an awesome buttstock or muzzle break on it. Great caliber with some pretty devastating power, but the ammunition for it is expensive as hell.

.300 WM is expensive to shoot, though you may not put as many rounds down range after you try it out because it kicks a helluvalot more than a .308. It's also a much longer shooter so unless you're reaching out past 500 yards it's a bit of a waste.

The .270 has great ballistics and makes an all-around excellent rifle. You can use it on varmint all the way up to whitetail without issue. My brother still uses the Savage .270 he started hunting with over 10 years ago and it still shoots sub-MOA.

The .30-06 is a classic round. My first deer rifle was a .30-06. It reaches out as well as the .270 but can carry a heavier round. It also has loads of options for factory ammo, even match-grade stuff since it's still used for military marksmanship matches. It does kick more than a .270 but a decent brake will make that manageable.

My vote of the three would be the .30-06. I still really like that round. If ever I got a semi it would probably be an M1A or a classic Garand.

Good choice. Which variant of the 700 did you pick up?

I was at the range yesterday getting data on the .308 now that the brake is installed. Unfortunately my load development didn't really give me much data because all 10 shots from each string pretty much ended up in a sub-minute group at 200 yards. At least I got some chrono data from them so I'll go with the one that had the most consistent velocity and use that recipe until I'm proficient enough at longer range to get a proper ladder test done.

The real fun was testing the subsonic loads I put together at 50 yards, both for stability and velocity data. Totally comparable to firing a .22 both in recoil and in sound. Turns out that with the 24" barrel with 11.25" 5R rifling that 168gr SMKs do not stabilize, they were leaving oblong holes in the paper. 190gr SMKs also don't stabilize all the time. Surprisingly it was the 175gr SMKs that I'm using for my regular handloads for the .308 that were consistently stable. 10gr of Trail Boss gives about 1050 fps.
