Default Subaruman5 driving to Victoria via Tsaw. Sat-Sun Mini-Meet Swartz Bay Stay Tuned

Well, believe it or not, I'm driving all the way from Medford, Oregon to go see my old flight instructor who helped me get through my Commercial Pilot Licence Training. In the last six months, he has been flying a Twin Otter from Victoria to Vancouver and I havn't seen him since I left Bellingham to go down to Oregon for School.

The plan is to Leave Medford after work on Friday at around 16:30pm
I was going to stop in Eugene to take care of some business and check out an apartment for when I go back to school during the school year.
Afterwards, i'm going to drive all the way to Bellingham that night and sleep at my families house in Bellingham. Leave the next morning and catch one of the ferries probably in the afternoon from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay

Schedule is here.
http://www.bcferries.com/schedules/m...w-current.html

I'm guessing that the Spirit of British Columbia sails at 7,11,15, and 19. Anyways might be making the 15:00 (3pm) and arriving at 4:35 at swartz bay. I will let you know forsure on the exact time I take the ferry so possibly, we could maybe get a little mini-meet going and I hardly get to go to Vancouver Island so it would be nice to get a greeting from you guys.

Anyways what is your schedules like on Saturday? What about Sunday?

Also, does it sound like the Ferries are closed down on Monday? To me it kind of does so I might want to get off the Island on Sunday.

Diddo about the ferries due to the long weekend. I can make it either day. I'm just debating as whether or not it's worth the 4 hour drive each way. I highly doubt that the ferries are closed on Monday, just very busy. I was just down there for work on Monday and Tuesday, so I'm not sure about how I feel. Let's see if we get a few folks.

Made it to Bellingham at around 4am this morning and woke up at 6am. I'm heading to town to get an oil change and getting some errands done. I'll be taking one of the afternoon ferries probably 3pm or after. I'll give you a call

Paul (amarpauld) will be coming saturday or sunday. Is your cell number this one still? (250) 885-4018 (I mixed a couple numbers up for privacy) If that's your number i'll give you a call on that.

Sean- You can release your number on here if anyone near victoria wants to hang out with us tonight, saturday night. my phone will be roaming since from the u.s. so will be cheaper if we use yours.

mike from tofino - you are welcomed to come, but it looks like it's only sean and possibly paul that will be there unless impreza911, binz, alexs001, kool168, 420wrx, bender, rally_rx, skier or spanke show any sign of interest on here. or anyone who is willing to take the ferry from the mainland over for two days.

anyways cheers. my cell number is (360) 920-9698 if for any emergency. remember it's roaming for me.

peace and seeya tonight

Bryan

I don't think I got it in me this weekend, I should be out fishing in my boat while it's still nice. Also on the agenda is a lawn manicure and enjoying a labour day weekend in Tuff City without many tourists and no water!!!!! Besides, if you only slept 2 hours, you'll be dog tired tonight!!!! I also have to work Monday....Too bad because I would also love to show off my swap and other improvements since you saw the car last year.

Bryan, that's still my number- turns out I'm headed to Duncan today, and I'll head over to victoria tommorow sometime...

check out bcferries.com for current conditions of the ferry terminal.. it's only noon now, and there's already a 2 sail wait (afternoons are usually busier)

There was some sailing waits yesterday cause of all the festivities in DT Victoria (they have several live bands playing free open-air and the tall ships are in the harbour).

DT is a gong show! I had a few calls right DT yesterday and I was stuck wading through tourists driving like morons.

I'm not too far from the ferry but I worked late n hard last night so I feel like crap.. I wonder why my phone hasn't rung yet this morning.. Oh **** now it wil.. *knock on wood*!!

Well made it to Bellingham at about 10pm tonight. Hung out in Langley, B.C. with my flight instructor at the flying school and now back at parents house in Bellingham, Wa. ferry went really well and was only a 30-45 minute wait for the next ferry to pick us up at about 5pm sunday evening. We even got to see some whales on the way back like 50 meters from the ferry boat! I'll post this cool picture of one jumping out of the water in action!

too bad I missed hanging out with 420wrx. Oh well next time. Got to see rs_two_five twice and also had a chance to check out seans work at the Vic int. airport. sweet can. airforce sikorsky CH 124 Seekers. what a blast.

Called Mynxi twice and no answer Not sure where you were Joanne. Anyways long trip ahead of me tomorrow back to Medford Oregon. It's 2am right now and waking up at 5:40am to leave back before I get in traffic in seattle. Man that's going to be a bad time...

oh well and goodnight

Bryan
