Post Improving the factory boost solenoid - part 2

Okay, after tracking/reading all the posts and comments that followed my original thread on the 3/16" restrictor that leads to the factory solenoid (originally brought to all of our attention by the BoostMonkey folks), I decided to REMOVE my larger 3/16" restrictor and replace it with my original factory restrictor - which is somewhat smaller.

Here is what I noticed upon the change:
The responsiveness of the car did diminish somewhat at lower rpms, and my boost gauge indicated probably between .7 and 1 pound less boost. Pulling from 2500 rpm in fourth gear was less dramatic, BUT higher rpm boost stayed around longer, and I got smoother boost performance with less spiking. My car had previously pulled timing due to spikes of around 16-17 psi (no other mods). I now again get that satisfying pull right up through until about 6300 rpm, whereas before it seemed to taper noticeably at 6000 rpm. I did NOT reset my ECU when making this change.

I'll leave the factory restrictor in, and drive it for a while to see if the ECU ends up doing something funny.

Anybody else have an experience that compares?

Did you use a 3/16" restrictor or a 3/16" connector. And I thought you already compared both of them about a half hour apart or something two months ago on that other thread and you had nothing but good to say then I believe. What differences did you notice between the two separate tests?
