replied to the other post as well. in Idaho Falls.

As far as the ecu, i've never looked, but i've been told its just the V5 ecu that came with the motor/driveline. Certainly drives nice and smooth like a factory ecu.

huh? v3 what?
A real v5 front bumper would be the same as the oem US 99-01 RS bumper. This is just a 98 RS chassis with the oem bumper on. If you recall we didn't get the WRX/STi bumper till 99, those we got the sideskirts/hood/spoiler all in 98.
Needless to say its only a $200 part new from your local dealer, and can easily be installed of the 98 bumper beam with a light bit of modification to the beam.
Add in that and the oem lower lip perhaps and you'd have a nice complete V5 body. (well with the better looking wing, IMHO. i hate the tall STi wings on any of the versions. Too ricer-ish for me.)

good luck man you are forsure to take a hit right now. its also hard cause banks wont loan that so you will have to have a all cash buyer. luckily when i sold mine the kid just got a loan for what they would give him and then got the rest with a cash advance on his credit card. so maybe tell people to try that or i dont know really what your options are.

but good luck

Ouch.

The banks will loan the money, just not to kids without credit.

GL with the sale, it looks like a great car for the price.

exactly. This credit crisis started because banks were lending to anyone with no credit. Now they'll just loan to people that have the means to pay their loan. Like it should be.

If it matters, i paid more than $10k for this car, and i got a single loan for it.

I'm already losing more money on it then i want. But hey, no point in losing my shirt over it. I can always sit on it. The other option is i keep it and sell my 04 STi. I figure the people that can't afford this sure as heck can't afford a car worth 2x as much. This is a heck of a lot of performance for $10k.

part it? what am i gonna part? the driveline? i don't have another 2.5L driveline to drop back in, and i bet after taking mine out, and buying another to stick in, i'd get less than i want for the car. I've given it a tad bit of thought, but i don't think its a feasible option.

plus, what are people gonna do with a v5 driveline? stick it in a GC-chassis? might as well just buy this one, its already together. Zero installation work, runs great.
