will the covers from the base model fit with the fog lights installed, or do i need to remove both assemblies?

A little harsh, but certainly true...

You're better off asking in the 2012 impreza thread. This is more geared towards the 08+ and even then more wrx and sti. And I would not recommend dark tint. Liability isn't worth looking cooler.

On the topic of whatever is wrong with my car, I don't seem to be losing power or gas mileage. I haven't measured anything but the acceleration feels the about the same and I've had 21- 22mpg mixed.

I tinted mine with about two coats looks fantastic and brake lights are very visible. Reverse lights well that's different. They are visible but you can't see the light when your backing up.

Got another question for you guys. Since about 2 weeks ago since I took my car on a 1000 mile road trip I've been noticing a strange burning smell everytime I turn off my car. I'm smelling it from the passenger side the most when I stand outside but when I pop the hood open and try to locate the smell it goes away too quickly. I can't see any noticeable oil leaking anywhere. I thought I might have caught some plastic on my exhaust but I couldn't find anything after crawling under my car.

Any ideas?

Haha thanks. I thought the smell would go away after a week if it was plastic or spilled oil but it hasn't yet. I noticed it smells the strongest when it's hotter outside or when my car is being driven for a longer period of time. I'm taking it to the dealership soon so ill let you guys know what is going on.

There was a plastic bag caught on my greddy at one point that melted onto the midpipe. It took a long time to fully burn off.

Yeah my friend had that happen on his hatch. It literally took at least a month for the smell to go away. Not much you can do to get it off either.

RockAuto.com has replacements for around $60. Easy to replace, two screws if I remember correctly.

My front sway bar alignment is horrible. I bought some used sway bars and the rear fits perfectly but the front whiteline bar alignment is horrible. I have a feeling this bar is pretty old and I'm thinking they probably had fitment issues. Anyone seen anything like this?

This is with more spacers

My friend was having a similar problem. He kept clearing the codes but they would come right back up. I forgot what exactly the problem was but he needed a whole new motor. Hopefully yours is something else, but might want to go to the dealership

Are the sway bars made for your car? If they are 08-10 they're going to be short in the front by about an inch each side.

Yeah I just found that out this morning. I bought them off someone who had a 2010. I got them dirt cheap though, not a big deal. I'll be switching back to the oem and just keeping the kb endlinks on. Thanks for the info.

He has a 2012 wrx with a Perrin ebcs, downpipe, intake, and a torqued performance tune. He over boosted at rally cross and blew a head gasket and cracked the piston rings on cylinder 4. He had a jerky throttle and kept throwing misfire codes. He said he cleaned the maf sensor and it seemed to help. So I guess try cleaning the maf if you haven't done that already.

I'm letting the dealership figure it out. I know they'll work with me on this, especially since I am 100% stock (other than rear sway bar, everything came with the car from the factory, and even the rsb was installed by the dealership)

Also here's this:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2379736

"VALVE CLEARANCE ISSUE. Finally got some answers after leaving work early today just to showup at the dealership in person. Engine failed on all cylinders the Compression/Leakdown test. There are many similar posts scattered about this forum and others form many 2011 - 2012 wrx/sti owners on this issue. Not sure yet on the course of aciton, but the problem has been identified atleast. I've heard of them ismply reshimming them into spec or getting new ones not sure. The valves are staying open a tiny bit when they are supposed to be fully sealed if the valve clearances arent EXACTLY the right dimensions (within .001 in makes a difference). Anyone with misfire codes on these new engines should insist on having Comp/Leak test performed and valvetrain inspected first thing."

ug this is gonna be a pain with stage 2 lol

I think I ran across that info a long while back but I sort of assumed my compression was ok because my vacuum reading hasn't changed on my boost gauge and it seems to be making good power. I suppose I could try doing a compression test myself before demodding and trying to get it covered..or just trying to get it covered honestly..lol

I would err on the side of honesty, honestly

At least you aren't the kind of ****bag that mods the hell out of your car, runs it hard, then "reverts to stock" to sell it AS STOCK to some unsuspecting person. Then again, that still isn't as bad as a local car dealer (silverline in portland) that has been buying salvage titles from the east coast and selling them as clean titles here. tangent/10
