This is awesome. I've seen plastic ones with stickers letters in the same fashion, but the wood version looks great. Hope no parts change.

The look of this car is so clean especially with those wheels. I've been waiting to get those but also want to drop weight which those don't do. They do look good though. Thanks for the update.

Soooooo .... I am thinking about swapping a EJ207 From a Ver 9 STi into the STi. Swapping the engine I understand.... But I have a few Questions:

1. Can it use the USDM Harness to run.

2. I understand if I want to use the Dual AVCS I would have to get the I-Wire harness to make it work. If I get the VER9 ECU for the 207. I understand I would have to have a Open Source Tune...

3. Is it pretty much Plug and Play??? Just something I am kicking around. I know I would have to find a Down Pipe to work with the Twin Scroll. What kind of power will it make with a full tune.. and Larger Injectors with E-85 conversion.???

4. This goes along with my JDM Theme.. I would keep the original Ej257 just to have..

Thoughts please

Bill

After some Research. I decided to go ahead and pull the trigger on brand new OEM RA shortblock. and OE Gasket kit... to have when and if I need it..Will also be putting on a 12mm STi Oil pump , new OE Water Pump, OE Timing belt kit. Will get the OE Heads redone. I am going to opt for OE Valve train components.. that still utilize the Sodium filled Exhaust valves... will refresh the springs and get everything back to OE Spec, When and if I ever need to . The Ver 8/9 option EJ207 would have been fun... but way to much work to basically give me the same power level that I am at now..so I scrapped that idea for the RA...

More later
Bill

Thanks man... I appreciate the offer.. ..Not looking to do that for a while.. maybe Spring/Summer 2023....I put 3900 miles on this past year.. Everything seems to be good...for now.. Getting the block to have."Just in case"...I want to be prepared for when I actually do the engine As you know I am trying to get this thing refreshed to almost concourse standards..What ever I have replace with after-market stuff..I have all the original stuff in it place if I 'ever' want to bring it back that way. I want every system to work as it did when it was brand new.. so I have taken a lot of time and money to ensure it will be an "EXAMPLE" 2nd to none ...I know you understand that. What I am considering is doing the motor and still have the OEM Shortblock for whoever Gets the car when I can't enjoy it anymore..
My Health, as you know, is not the greatest but I am trying to improve that. But if it doesn't work out and I can't enjoy it any longer then it will go up for sale...to hopefully someone that can appreciate all the things i did to the car..and most impportantly.. it's not a CLAPPED OUT POS.. and to get premium dollar for my efforts ... So I know you understand .

Nice decision on the block. I just grabbed some new heads myself. I've been on the fence about what do with my car as well. I've been torn between building the sleeved block I have or just ordering a short block, but living in CA......I just might stick with a stock engine config. and a modified VF48.

Understand... since I am not looking for crazy power.. I will be happy with my port and polished, 11 blade billet wheel'd VF48 also.. I am also going to check the ring gap in the RA block just to see what it is set at.. I will probably ensure the ring gap is: 0.0028 or 0.0035 for my liking.. to avoid ring land failure.. not going to push more than the current 21.5 lbs of boost anyways.. that should be plenty for me..

Went on a good 100 mile drive yesterday... Love that I don't have to worry about anything as it runs great.. But I did kinda get into it with a boosted Altima, later model.. It hung but the STi was the victor.. anyways.. I am putting together a build list for the RA Block. The plan will be to *EXCHANGE the engine complete, minus Accessories that will be MILDLY built...And put the original engine on a stand to have it.. as a Original Equipment (Numbers matching), an yes I know there are no numbers on it. that way if me or someone wanted to bring the car *completely back to stock, they can..
Proposed build:
-12mm STi JDM oilpump
-New OE Waterpump
-New OE timing Kit...(Belt, tensioner, Idler pulleys.)
-Going to try to get some Used STi Heads, and port and polish them with Stock Valvetrain but maybe some 292 BC Cams..
-Change the intake/TGV's to topfeeds, 1400ID should fit the bill.. not going corn so those should be plenty, already have the intake to use for this.
-upgrade the Fuel pump over my Walboro 255 that I am currently using.
-not cutting the front bumper and car will remain with TMIC...
-Coated UEL Headers...
-Replace ALL Hoses on Engine with OEM
-Killer Bee. oil pickup. baffle and oil pan..
-+1 Sparkin plugs
-New coils
-OEM Gasket Set
-STi Hard inlet pipe
-

That Should about do it. maybe a 18/20g turbop...We'll see.. than yank out the OE motor and put it on the stand..

That should satisfy my urge for some Power..

What says YOU??? Feasable or nahhh

Bill

That's a rad and meant to be kind of story. I wish I could have the same story with a '68 C10 that I used to own. Car is a real subtle beauty!

Thanks..Much appreciated.. I love that I got it back..

In other news, I found a set of 2017 STi limited wheels for a great price. Gonna get them refinished in STi Gold. I think it definitely pop on my STi... What do you think???
