2008 SWP 2.5i - My log
Is this picture enough to keep you intrigued to scroll down?
Well I Have this posted up on the Toronto Subaru Club boards, and I figured I may as well share it here to for those who want to see. Since I have pictures and mods scattered throughout NASIOC and receive a bunch of pm's every week asking about specifics. so this is to consolidate everything in one place Ignore the old references of things to be installed, or if there are dates or anything as I am just copying over the relevant posts. I finally decided to write down/ log my different/unique/diy modifications. I've finally gotten to a point where I am satisfied with the appearance/ handling and don't have any more big plans for a while (not that anything I've done thus far is "big" compared to most other cars on this forum lol) Feel free to comment, give criticism, or compliments! I have sporadically posted some of these mods/ pictures on NASIOC and have had great feedback and even inspired a few people, helping them out with the DIY/how to's through pm's. With that being said if anybody had any questions or needs help just ask, I've done all this myself and am always willing to help out a fellow member. (From my introduction post) The Subaru bug bit me early. At 17 I got my grandparents 1990 Subaru legacy 2.2 n/a. She treated me well up until her "retirement" lol 3 years ago. I was hooked I "needed" another Subaru. I ended up buying a 2008 pearl white Impreza hatch. Here is a pic of the car a few days after I got it; was well taken care of by previous owner. What started as just a coincidence, has now become the colour scheme of the car, black on white with red accenting, I like it, and that's all that counts at the end of the day. summary of what has been done: Interior:***8232; Audio/video: - Sony XNV 660bt - axxess steering wheel control interface - Back-up camera - Kole audio MFW-10 (fiber glassed/Kevlar into the spare tire) - Power Acoustik BAMF-1250/2 - ***8232;Painted radio bezel and door handles pearl black - 50 square feet worth of sound dampening in doors/floor/wheel wells/ roof - 20 sf sound blocking mass loaded vinyl Appearance: - Black***8232; 3M 1080 carbon vinyl on silver trim pieces across the dash w/red pinstripe + center console - Blue led lighting under dash/ foot wells/ seats tied in with dash dimmer and headlight switch***8232; - STi red-stitched steering wheel - Re-stitched red shifter + brake boot - Leather w/ red stitched center console - Flossy wrinkle red heavy shift knob - Flossy boot retainer - "Subaru" holographic projection in foot wells - Full LED conversion - DIY red LED cup holder illumination - Redline Alacantra cluster cover - Dark camo fabric Headliner, shift boot, ebrake boot & cluster cover Exterior:***8232; lighting: - Hyper yellow fog light bulbs (9005 mod) - Independent fog light mod - Morimoto D2s 2.0 projectors - Morimoto 3five 5000k D2s bulbs - Morimoto FX-r 3.0 Projectors - Osram Xenarc 66240 CBI bulbs - Matsu****a Gen V ballasts (oem) - The Retrofit Source relay harness - BMW X5 LED fog lights - Red LED demon eye (+ painted shield) - 100m ccfl angel eyes (drl) - White Morimoto v.1 LED angel eyes (drl) - White Morimoto LED v.2 angel eyes (as drl) - drl delete - White LED puddle lights (underside of mirrors) - Switchback LED turn signal bulbs - Tapturn relay - LED rear reflector replacements (act as additional running lights and brake lights) Films: - Wrapped with 3M's Satin White Pearl - Hexis vinyl gloss black roof - 3m Scotchgard hood, fenders, a-pillars, mirrors - Tint - 35% fronts, 15% rear, 5% sun strip Appearance: - Custom 2009 wide-body STi front bumper cut and moulded to fit narrow-body - Bayson R Carbon fiber STI spoiler - 2008-2009 STi polyurethane front lip (even on the original bumper) - DIY mesh grille - Red supertones - Debadged rear - DIY custom Subaru badges (removed and re-coloured to be red on black) - Red painted calipers - Zip-tie stitching on front bumper (fix for winter damage) - TSC STICKERS! - Rallyarmor urethane mud flaps (front only) - BluBat Taillight overlays Wheels: - 17"x9" XXR 522 Gold(summer) - 17" xxr941 - 16" blaze yellow stock alloys - 16" black steelies (winter) - 255/40/17 Nexan N3000 (summer) (yes you read that right 255's ! ) - 205/55/16 Firestone Winterforce (winter) Suspension/Handling: - DGR street spec coilovers - 2.2 degrees of camber in the rear, 1.2 degrees of camber up front - Perrin short throw shift adapter - Perrin rear shifter bushings - Whiteline 22mm rear anti-sway bar - Whiteline rear Endlinks - Whiteline tower brace (front) - Eibach 25mm hollow front anti-sway bar - Rallitek hd front endlinks Engine: - Neetronics open source tune - Great North Performance Lightweight crank pulley - Great North Performance Pitch Stop mount - Big 3 electrical (power/grounding) mod - DIY Hybrid intake - Fumoto oil valve Exhaust: - OBX 2.5" catback exhaust - Magnaflow muffler - Muffler delete pipe - 24" Thrush straight through glass pack in replacement of OBX resonator - Car Chemistry 2-disc exhaust insert - Rallisport Racing v.2 uel headers (Cerma Krome coated) - Rallisport Racing custom mid-pipe/cat-delete Heres some relevant links: My retrofit thread: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2237956 My "Subaru's On Ice" videos/ pictures http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2469173 Rallisport Racing UEL DIY thread http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2454753 How she currently sits ***9786;

And just so you know why I CAN'T close that wheel gap just yet:
My little suby is already a snowplow at stock height in Thunder Bay winters lol. Only time I got stuck was when I was hung up on the frame :P and all the little details Front emblem, mesh grille, supertones rear emblem, rearview camera, painted chrome plastic trim to SWP 3M 1080 cf dash "swoop" with red pinstripe, gloss black radio bezel + door handles Subwoofer box Last edited by Duvanator; 03-07-2013 at 05:58 PM. |

Installing the OBX catback
First things first, tighten up the front endlinks (just installed last week, and tightening incase anything loosened) Stock Exhaust out (and a nice view of the whiteline sway bar ) Side by side I still dont know who could have ever conceived the idea to make a muffler THAT big! its ridiculous Installed I've also Done a lot of sound deadening and block in my car. this is the tackling the roof: Headliner dropped Just look at all the nice shiny undampened sheet metal... Lets fix that: |

now my car has wont sound like a tin can in the rain! btw I've already done my doors and hatch area, so the roof was the last on the list. side note: LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THE SIDE AIRBAG!!! I've gotten in Auto-X racing p.s. that is the most body roll this car will get, and that is me thrashing it through the corner as had as she will go :P any other 2.5i will be scraping its mirror on the ground haha |

Nice job! Was your interior black when it was stock or did you paint it and buy/re-upholster seats? Im working on converting my mostly light tan and black interior to dark grey and black or black on black because the tan is ugly and always looks dirty I see you did that 3m wrap and I may go for something like that as well

Thanks! The interior was always black, aside from the silver plastic, which I've been covering with vinyl/paint/leather Yeah I can't complain I love the black interior. Thanks a lot, I just ordered them off ebay, $11 shipped. These are what I ordered: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/271093163345?...#ht_4722wt_950 but there are hundreds to choose from, 7440 / T20 size |
